So, I know why Sookie is upset & I think I understand why the AP is sick, but why would all of the professors cancel classes? Would they do that because the AP isn’t well?

No mention of what modern day Eric intended to send to Sookie. Maybe next chapter?

So Eric gets turned right after this meeting & it’s looking to me like Appius will be doing the turning. I wonder how that affects future meetings. Do they stop because he becomes a vampire? I’m thinking that shouldn’t impact his *ability* to meet with her because this isn’t really dreaming, but is rather out of body experiences. What happens to soft-hearted Sookie if their meetings continue & she finds out about all that Appius puts Eric through? However, this communication is with a version of Eric from the past whereas, in real time, he’s already been a vampire for a millennium. I can’t figure out how the two separate things will be reconciled in this story. Agh — how could the existing vampire version have memories of those shared times with young Sookie & human Eric? And already being a vampire for 1000 or so years, he surely did all his dark vampire shit & carousing so where does that put him relative to Sookie & his promises to be with no one but her? I’m so confused!

Crack me up! Just the mention of Sookie’s first period & putting on the white dress mentally took me right back to junior high & all the angst about possible leakage that other people might see.

The scenario of caving in to her friend & breaking the rules is both an eternal example of the struggle between the authority figure vs. teenager (and if insert friend’s name here jumped off of a bridge would you jump too?) and a teaching moment for both the AP & Eric about holding firm in doing what’s right rather than succumbing to being soft-hearted enough to let someone persuade/pressure/guilt her into doing something she knows she shouldn’t (& in fact, didn’t even want to do).

It may sound petty of Eric to get pissy & threaten to leave & not be with her anymore over looking at boys, but in addition to trying to teach her what she needs to really learn to lead/wield her power in the future, he has been going against his father/king & making big, risky sacrifices himself with the intent & belief that the two of them will be together.

Hmmm. I’m interested to see what happens in their meetings after he’s turned. Especially if Appius is his maker, that will be a lot for Sookie to swallow.

Iphigenia Is a Britlingen, so definitely not the Iphigenia of Greek legends. I’d like to see Agamemnon try to sacrifice this one! The Trojan War would look like a walk in the park by comparison.

Too funny — seven year old Sookie is already getting belligerent with Eric and during an out of body trip at that!

Wow! Sookie’s first meeting with Eric is when she’s seven in this story, albeit as an ‘out-of-body’ meeting. So will he remember this & recognize her when they meet when she’s grown-up? This story seems to be heading into a very AU direction with Eric being kind to a fairy hybrid child. He’s not ever very child oriented or child friendly except in stories where he gets turned into a saccharine, baby making marshmallow. Then again, it’s not exactly clear on his human vs vampire status for this ‘meeting.’

It just occurred to me that if Godric is the AP’s maker then she could be Eric’s ‘sister’ if Godric is treated as his maker in this story. Then again, Appius as his sire seems more likely given that he was supposed to be Greek & that it could get squirrelly for Eric & the AP to have the same sire.

Pulling out a lot of Greek references here! If my memory is correct, Iphigenia was King Agamemnon & Queen Klytemnestra’s daughter. Her appearance here would have to be before her father sacrificed her to the gods for favorable winds on his way to wage war on Troy if it’s the same woman.

The plot thickens...

Interesting that Godric is her maker here. In most stories I’ve read so far that include both of these characters it’s the other way around & usually a secret that the AP is Godric’s maker.

Quite a big change for Sookie to go from being hidden away & told she was too stupid for school by her parents to be suddenly elevated to royal status & being treated like a princess.

I’m very curious as to why her familial relationship to the AP has to be a secret. I get why being related to Apollo must be kept quiet. I’m not clear whether Sookie’s relationship to Niall is meant to be kept secret there. The same is true for the AP’s relationship to Niall.

I’m also curious as to whether deities will be active characters in this story. They don’t come into the SVM/TB FFs all that often. Usually when there are deities, they’re Norse (tied to Eric’s human culture), but the AP’s association with the Greeks is common so, tying her to Apollo is an unusual but fitting twist. Very interesting.

I’m eager to see Sookie’s future. Becoming a judge is something I haven’t seen before.
