Woah, I really like this interpretation of Chell getting the companion cube! Never thought about falling asleep with it like a stuffed animal, and interesting how it's from GLaDOS's laboratorian perspective. I commend your work!

Those closing lines are just great. I loved the whole fic, but those closing lines were just the clincher. The Companion Cube is one of the most interesting parts of the Portal series to me, mainly because I /did/ form sort of a connection to it when I first came across it, which I attribute to the fact that it's one of the few things you can actually get emotionally attached to (besides, possibly, GLaDOS) in the sterile, lonely test chambers. And I felt that reason for why the Cube is such a memorable part of the games came across clearly in this.

Well, at least she can rest assured that eight out of ten Aperture engineers agree that the Aperture Science Weighted Companion Cube is not capable of feeling much pain.
