| Guest chapter 11 . 2/19
Epic. It was interesting to see such a potentially lethal setting actually express its lethality in contrast to canon.
| DschingisKhan chapter 11 . 7/16/2013
The player character body count was surprisingly low, all points considered. And the ones you chose all had fitting scenes. Yuuka's, I would venture, had the least. The implication being that she'll bloom again with the flowers of Gensoukyou, I think that was intentional. Mystia's was very well-executed; bravo. Turning it into a point of pride had good impact. Suika... this one didn't really surprise me in terms of the outcome of the battle itself. But right after? Great. Tenshi. THAT Tenshi. Meted out justice on behalf of heaven
Props for your originals, too; they were pretty good. As a reader, I was invested enough to feel sad when Hitomi ate it; shocked when Kanon slit the throat of her assailant (that worked well, and set the stage for later); very pleased when various moon people died for their hubris; and I kind of want to know what fate ultimately befalls Flopsy (snerk).
Some things are still unclear, though. Just how a DID Mary change the definition of purity? That is, what did that do? Where did Cirno go? What is the significance of the rain of dragon blood, and what did it actually do to Renko? I'm guessing Lady Mima returned to the cycle?
On the whole, enjoyable; thanks for writing!
| kinigget chapter 1 . 6/4/2012
Mystia choosing to die free was a powerful moment, made even more so by Keine choosing to let her decision stand rather than try to rescue her by changing history. I would have liked a little confirmation of Keine's actions though, none of the characters she saved show up again to confirm that they were, in fact, saved.
Suika's death and Tenshi's revenge was another very powerful moment. The punishment Tenshi decreed was so much more fitting than anything else she could have done.
And at the end, life still goes on, the Hakurei boundary may be gone, but Gensokyo lives on. Overall, this story was very, very good. It respected the characters and the setting, everything that happened was entirely plausible within the setting, and the character's motivations all made sense. It's rare to see a plot hold together that well, very well done.
| I Before A Except After K chapter 11 . 5/11/2012
This is one of the best stories I've ever read on this website, and I've added it to TV Tropes' Touhou fan fiction recommendations page. I'm speechless, as I can think of no words that can accurately express how good this story is.
| I Before A Except After K chapter 9 . 5/11/2012
"It's been a long time. How have you been? I've been real busy being dead. You know, since you murdered me."
I love the Portal 2 reference. Subtle references are the best references.
| Savato93 chapter 11 . 1/6/2012
Have you considered writing a sequel about the aftermath of this fic? What happened to the Lunarians that fled? What became of Akiyoshi and Kanon? There are obviously so many loose ends to tie up.
| The MissingLink chapter 11 . 10/25/2011
Great story deserving of more reviews, so I figured I'd give one.
First of all, I love your depiction of Cirno. I don't think I've seen a more epic version anywhere else, and the snippets of that in this story are what got me interested in reading it in the first place.
Secondly, it's very nice to see someone using Maribel and Renko and not just keeping them in the background. It's pretty rare to see that done well, and this story delivers.
The ending? Honestly felt like a bit of an anticlimax to me. After multiple chapters of pitched battles, the final one was little more than a curbstomp punctuated by the protagonists' own problems. Perhaps that's what he deserved, but it still feels a bit off. On a sidenote, the bit where he consults his ability to learn how to best destroy Yukari? I don't know if it's intentional, but I read that as the whole thing with Maribel basically being his fault - the destruction of Yukari Yakumo implies the existence of Yukari Yakumo, after all - you can't possibly achieve that if she's already destroyed. Very poignant, at any rate.
I wish you luck in your further writings; rest assured that I will be paying attention to them!

As I said in earlier reviews, I don't have a great way with words but I can't thank you enough for writing this. I've been following the story since you first put it up on and it's been well worth the wait to see it through to the end. I hope you write more stories set in this world in the future. They don't have to be epics like this, just stories about people adapting to and living in the new world would be good. I'd love to see more of Kanon.

A great story here. Sadly, everything comes to an end, hope you still make great stories
| Ciruno Rowe 'Augmented Conduit chapter 10 . 10/22/2011
*applause* a great way to end the battle. Peace, I hope humanity could remake itself
| cyberswordsmen chapter 11 . 10/22/2011
A wonderfully done story. I'm sad to see it end though. I would be interested in reading more stories set in the "Age of Youkai" as a setting even if Maribel and Renko aren't present.

Whose the monster, Yukari or Tensho? I say Tensho
| BlueRibbon118 chapter 11 . 10/22/2011
A powerful, uplifting piece. Good work! :)
Shame you had to end it, though. Any plans for a 'Book 4' continuation?

I thought you were never gonna update on it again. A great chapter as always! You are indeed a skilled writer. I hope you continue this, also
Marisa, there have never been a time where your 'borrowing' way couldn't have been more useful.
Silly lunarian, Mokou can't be killed nor sealed!
Momiji as the great tengu leader! I approve!
