Was Riley trying to stake his claim by coming up and taking Bella by the elbow? Is he a good guy or bad guy? Edward was telling her he wasn't good enough. Was that because he's not or Edward is jealous?

I'm assuming Edward is aware that Bella is dating so maybe it wasn't Jake that came between them. It has to have something to do with Emette's death, something happened to Edward after the academy to make him go back to god. Was he flyer the chopper? Another chopper on scene? Is it possible to make lieutenant in 2 years?

Edward is confusing and looking forward to finding out what his problem is.

I was wondering if Jacob said something to mess things up with Edward and Bella. The fact that Edward actually passed Bella to to Jacob and the look he had about the girl picking another guy on the plaque made me think he messed things up between them somehow.

I think Edward is either trying to save Bella from having another partner with a dangerous job after what she has been through or he in some way feels responsible for Emette death. Maybe Edward was on that mission or involved in some way and feels somewhat responsible for the men that died. Either way he is acting like an ass, ghosting is a shitty and cowardly way to treat someone. He ran from her at the store, he needs to man up and say what's on his mind. I think in some cases where one person is pining for another is because they never got closure and haven't been able to reconcile the split in their own head. Just a thought but I can definitely see that being the case when someone ghosts someone else.

Still wondering if Edward knew Emette or maybe he's aware of the incident that killed him. I like how Bella standed up for herself. Feeling better about Jasper, thought he was an ass in the beginning.

I thought Jacob was going to gracefully admit defeat but I guess not.

Not sure how I felt about the date choice, it did seem to go well and Bella had fun so that's the important thing. I'm not sure if I thought it was a less than ideal choice for a first date because I'm older, maybe I wouldn't have felt the same 20 years ago. I guess I think a first date is for getting to know each other and a place like that makes it a little difficult.
I feel bad for Jacob but I guess he's taking it in stride. It seems like he is going to loose her for the third time, sounds like he's been waiting years.
I was wondering if it was going to come out that Edward knew who Bella was, that maybe he knew Emette and set out to meet her. It sounded like they were both in the coast guard and that might be how Emette died. I even had a fleeting thought of Emette dying while saving Edward.

Jasper sounds like an ass to me. If she's never late then why is he giving her a hard time? Is she always flirting? I very much doubt it so what is his problem? Being a little hard on someone for first time offenses and Edward wasn't even standing there long. How does he know she was flirting? From the conversation it didn't seem like flirting to me.
Would love an Edward pov.
