I had to mark this as one of my favorite stories because it was done so well. Admittedly the beginning was a bit off-putting for me due to my general tendencies as a Grammar Nazi, but you kept me interested enough to read further and I'm glad you did. This is one of the better MLP Trixie/Twilight fanfictions I've read with how the plot flowed and all the different elements. Some gripping areas were how you presented different characters... How Trixie's pride worked, Twilight's sympathy, Pinkie Pie's... Pinkie-Pie-ness, and Gilda. A lot of people present Gilda coming back with regret and you took a risk in having her still be something of a villain with all the Gilda fans out there, but I think the story was remarkable and I appreciate that last note about loyalty in Trixie's letter, and also that Trixie wrote her own letter. Overall, I love this. Thank you for writing such a piece :3

Well, the beginning was slightly contrived, but once things got rolling that was one of the more believable Trixie redemption stories. She kept a really nice balance between not opening up too quickly, showing some serious issues when she did, and not being a complete wad up till then - though granted her experiences with the Ordernaries got the wad-ness out of her system early.
That leads me to the other thing - you did a very good job of keeping the story kind of isolated from the Ordernaries. Not that they're anything less than awesome themselves, but this story simply wasn't about them. Despite your Author's Note fears, Ash's cameo didn't really let him get away with the story.

I read the whole thing, and I liked it. If I were a really nice guy, I'd go back and point out some of the spelling or grammar mistakes you made, but I don't have time to do that right now. I really liked how you wrote the friendship report at the end!
I'm just a sucker for any kind of story where there's mind swapping, so that's how your story reigned me in when I saw it on Equestria Daily.

"I'll be sure to give you proper credit when I talk about how I saved
'I' not 'Trixie' heh.
HOW CAN THIS BE MARKED AS COMPLETE-?
We don't have Twilight's letter to Celestia!
Otherwise. GOOD STORY! GOOD STORY!

"And Twilight, how do I get rid of these wings?"
Want them gone that badly?
'But…' Trixie sounded scared, 'I… I don't know where to go. There are so many… people around and I don't know which one to go to.'
Why do I get the feeling there's more to that line than meets the eye?
'Twilight?' Trixie's voice echoed from the aura she was pulling away from, 'Don't leave.'
Irony. Poetic actually. Since it's the closest Trixie been to anyone in her life.
standing up on her cot as the group turned to look, "It's good to be alone with my own thoughts again."
I somehow get the feeling she's gonna LONELY for a while IMHO.

but my pride was still too great for me to realize it."
Did she just ADMIT that?
When you stop and think about it, WHY are Trixie's tales about protection those who can't protect themselves UNLESS she WANTS to be a hero somewhere inside her.
as good with magic as you used to be.
as good with magic as you used to be with yours.
Damn. Gilda's really lost it. I mean really lost it.
Quick, use it!
And do it fast or you're dead!
They're rather fragile.
Good thing to give her that warning.
and Airborne Trixie!"
And the ponies should know there's no way Trixie should be able to cast that spell.
"What?" Gilda asked flatly, eyes narrowing dangerously.
Are those . . . skulls in her eyes?
Never expected this story to included Equestia's TWO resident jerks.
You know . . . . story telling wise, how sympathetic a character is 65% of time determined by how back story they're given. We're willing to forgive things a friend did we'd never imagine forgiving a stranger for. And to KNOW someone IMHO is part of being someone's friend.

Well, Trixie's revisionist version isn't as false as it could be. And at least Trixie STILL wants Twilight out of her head first. Nice look at stage performances.
Sounds like Gilda is WORSE THAN EVER. Sounds like she's changed from elitist to full out THUG.
I'm surprised other Griffons like her.

Bad to worse!
| Alex Warlorn chapter 4 . 9/10/2011
A chill ran down her spine as her thoughts turned unbidden toward the possibility that she and Twilight might begin to lose their sense of individuality if they remained the way they were for too long.
That wouldn't be so bad, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. And it's a base rule for something in one contain, in particular as something as liquid as thoughts.
Bwahahah! So it begins!
"Thank you," Trixie said,
Trixie saying THANK YOU to someone? Whao. Sure that fusion hasn't already started? Tee-hee!
BWAHAHAHA~ Brilliant deconstruction of the Pony's strictly vegan diet!
And the double stands needed to keep civilization running.
Trixie should be happy no one chose to ruin his wagon when she isn't looking.
I still refuse to back out of a promise to a friend."
Too bad Trixie's never had any. You know, I don't think she's really all that happy.
I can't see where this is going.
| Nachoman1 chapter 9 . 9/10/2011
Dear Princess Celestia:
I have to report about my experience inside Trixie's head.
While it wasn't fun to be inside of somebody who is so full of herself, I could eventually slip beneath all her layers of haughtiness and boasting and find a very vulnerable filly who knows what it is to sleep-stand because she doesn't have a herd to care for her sleep, or who has gone eating wild grasses because she has to choose between buying oats for her pantry or fireworks for her next act.
To my great surprise, I found that the pony who most hates the Great and Powerful Trixie is Trixie herself.
I know she can't stop acting so haughty precisely because that is her stage persona, but I believe I have gained a friend in her simply because she knows I know the real Trixie and because I let her know that she can come visit, and behind closed doors she will be capable of talking about her insecurities and bad days, and I will sleep-stand so she can sleep prone in my bed.
And while I'm not sure if I would want to repeat the entire experience, I believe that, if I could find or create a self-reversible version of the botched spell, I would welcome Trixie inside my skin for a few days, just so she could have a few days of not being Great and Powerful and see if she still remembers who she was before she had to start living as a fantasy character.
And now I understand how you feel about the Grand Galloping Gala: so much boasting and posturing and you trapped in the middle of it all. And now I also understand why your smile would momentarily diminish when you saw some ponyfolk grovel before you had even appeared: they would see you like an icon of veneration rather than as a mare who may also want to be hugged every now and then.
Is it lonely at the top, Princess? Is that why you do not hold the title of Queen or even Empress, despite nopony being above you?
Would you like to spend a couple of days being Ponyville's librarian and resident egghead, rather than the liege of us all?
Your faithful student.
| Alex Warlorn chapter 3 . 9/10/2011
'Oh dear,' Trixie said with clear sarcasm, 'your little lie is already breaking down. Whatever shall we do?'
Should have left the lying to the master.
And why the heck would Pinkie mistake Trixie's voice for Twilight's?
Only Pinkie (and okay Fluttershy too) would be big hearted enough to welcome Gilda after last time.
This is decidedly turning out very entertaining.
If Trixie had read the spell RIGHT she could have easily had mind swapping as part of her show, the audience would have loved it.
| Alex Warlorn chapter 2 . 9/10/2011
Depending on how long this lasts, they're gonna have to start feeding Twilight's body intravenously and start changing bed pans.
I guess Twilight should be happy her body ISN'T going about on it's own. Otherwise she'd have a version of her with no soul going about. Ever heard of the Nobodies from the Kingdom Hearts franchise?
| Alex Warlorn chapter 1 . 9/10/2011
Maybe they should have gotten another unicorn to do it. Something about doing a mind transform spell on yourself feel like giving yourself a heart transplant.
