Good story very well done
| Catservant chapter 5 . 5/2/2016
Very nice story! I enjoyed that back and forth getting closer and pulling back in the way you presented it. On the show we only see how they constantly misunderstand each other, jumping the gun and to the wrong conclusions, but while in your story there are misunderstandings, by telling us their thoughts, you show that they do kinda have an idea who the respective other is behaving that way. For example when Martin leaves after the bath, it's not just him running away and Louisa being angry, but Louisa understanding why he might have left and him realising that Louisa might have enjoyed the back rub... I liked your character development very much.
Thanks for the ride.

I'm so glad I discovered you. Another great story. Going to read all of yours.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story , thank you,
| Bodmin chapter 5 . 9/11/2011
Glad that they could both stop just thinking about their own turmoils but could see the problems and needs of the others. A very loving resolution. However, I doubt the writers of the show will give us such a friendly relation between them.
| jd517 chapter 5 . 9/7/2011
Oh this is just the perfect ending note! I love your story and the way you've brought them together. I just love the image of the storm outside and their own stormy emotions driving them together. Excellent!
| DianeB chapter 5 . 9/7/2011
Yay, oh yay! *Diane claps hands* What a lovely story, and a sweet, hopeful ending, too. You're right, they'll never be "together properly" on the show, but we all know there wouldn't *be* a show without the DM/LG conflict. So it's nice to have the romantic you, writing this kind of delightful story.
This is probably gonna sound silly, but you know the moment I liked most about this chapter? When Louisa realized where Martin was spending the night. I mean, she worked out all the places he *wouldn't* be, which left only one where he would, no doubt. And she was right. I liked that.
"Wind the baby." Ah, you guys crack me up.
| MacGyver chapter 5 . 9/6/2011
That was a really nice little story. I think at times itwould be nice to have a period of time where they got along for a bit. It is entertaining at times to see how they misinterpret each other but a good helping of good old romance is good as well.

I like the new decisive Martin! Great story LG.
| Biscuit50 chapter 5 . 9/6/2011
I echo some of the other sentiments expressed here ... very nice ending (very satisfying to someone who optimistically believes people can adapt their behavior and become better people along the way). Taking incremental chances and being rewarded reinforce that behavior for both of them. Great read. Thank you for writing it.
| oceans10 chapter 5 . 9/6/2011
You write so well. I really admire someone who can tell a good story. Thank you.:)
| GriffinStar chapter 5 . 9/6/2011
Aw, what a lovely ending :) A lot of the time it's just confidence that Martin lacks isn't it, but the fear of losing everything pushes him to be bold in your story, which I love.
Also love the line ' it would have been nice just once in a while if he had actually tried to get into her knickers'
| Chapin chapter 5 . 9/6/2011
Thank you Edith. And thank you LG for a good recounting of their time after the birth. If the canonical writers can focus on Martin's harsher side in the later series (by their own admission), then it is perfectly admissible for FF authors to have Martin reveal his deep emotions and admirable traits - whether they come by thought, therapy or panic. My guess is that there will be plenty to sort out after Season 5. So keep your pen close at hand.

Well done and quite a wonderful read. These little fictional universes make us craft them with such care, as you have here, they could be screenplays! Great!
