| tomoe-chi chapter 1 . 10/21/2013
I love the story but I can't say I love the end...
| servant123 chapter 1 . 8/4/2013
| unobtrusivescribe chapter 1 . 7/7/2013
I really liked the sit down talk they had. Arthur of course making sure he got everything straight & wouldn't take not for an answer! I think their friendship is plenty- they've put up with each other through so much already!
| Kiki1770 chapter 1 . 3/24/2013
That was wonderful! I loved how you put Freya in there!
| Sailor GaOn Donut chapter 1 . 3/4/2013
| Reader's Daughter chapter 1 . 8/2/2012
how bittersweet the real ending is
| Ascello chapter 1 . 7/27/2012
It'll be short.
The only thing I want to say is that, that Arthur was not able to learn the LEGENDS about Emrys, because nothing of that had happened yet. Arthur was only able to learn the PROPHECIES about Merlin etc.
| Bibliophile109 chapter 1 . 7/11/2012
I liked both endings. Keep writing!
| Goutt2mer chapter 1 . 6/1/2012
I enjoyed very much reading this one ! It was just stunning to see Arthur making explanations about Merlin and Freya but not seeing that he's truly the once and future king. So funny ! I love those two ! xD
Well, it makes me think, with the two endings, that how "Merlin" series will end... If Merlin will truly be fooled by the Lady of the Lake and Arthur will die ? o.O Good question... only the future will tell.
See you in the next review ! :D
| Astraea802 chapter 1 . 1/5/2012
Good story, I did enjoy it. But I don't understand - how can there be legends about something that hasn't happened yet? Legends are not prophecies, and I was given the sense that Emrys and the Lady of the Lake had existed before Merlin and Freya.
Also, I think your alternate ending fits the mood of the piece more. Loved that Arthur couldn't figure out he was the once and future king, that was good!
| Atanaa chapter 1 . 12/10/2011
I like the second ending more :D
| dork-with-glasses chapter 1 . 11/18/2011
I really loved this fic. It was really interesting to see how you portrayed Arthur's thought process with the whole magic thing and being caught between being worried for Merlin and being completely shocked. Although I think Arthur might have been a little bit more angry at the fact Merlin had been lying to him. Nevertheless, you captured Arthur, Merlin and Gaius really well and I love the idea of Gaius telling Arthur legends when he was a boy. It was really really good.
| xEmrys chapter 1 . 8/25/2011
Haha. When Merlin went to wake Arthur in the morning I thought he had finally cracked it. That was, until he thought his servant was committing treason!
Brilliant take though. Maybe you could have combined both endings to make one ending where both thoughts pass through Gaius' brain? Oh well, I liked both. :D
| Yuki082 chapter 1 . 8/23/2011
T-T i like the second ending better! i HATE thinking about the real stuff (
great fic though please keep up the awesome writing!
| anon chapter 1 . 8/19/2011
Your first instinct was correct- by revealing the bitter end to the legend, you keep this from being merely a sweet moment. The second ending takes away from you story, while the first makes the story into something more than it was. My only complaint with the ending would be, if you don't intend to continue this, then take out the bit about the role the Lady of the Lake would play. It leaves an unnecessarily unanswered question.
Your writing is smooth and easy to read. While it is not overly stylistic, it does not detract from the story- which I'd take over style any day. Overall, this is a fairly well done piece.
