Reviews for Mage Rising |

![]() ![]() ![]() I think Sorcerer sounds cooler than Mage lol. But I would like to point out that there is a bit of a flaw with how you did your rankings. One of Dumbledore's titles is Grand Sorcerer, it's only really mentioned in Harry's Hogwarts invitation but it's still there. While I doubt you'll ever come back and do more with this story, if you did, it really wouldn't be that hard to add a few extra lines and adding that ranking in. |
![]() ![]() Interestingly enough, I've read a similar story to this. Only in that one, Harry ran his glowing index finger from Hermione's shoulder to her hip to seal the same injury. He ran it back up then down and there was not even a scar after that. There's another one where Harry's fighting a demon in the Ministry because he's the only capable of doing so and has the other Aurors drop the Ministry on them to kill it. Or something like that. I only vaguely remember it as I never got to finish reading it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sooner or later, they have to deal with Molly They also should have tested the twins. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Coolness. Are they using their wand? Wondering about Neville’s bad fit |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Whoa; a great chapter. He had every right to lose it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Exciting, fun, and hopeful. Looking forward to the rest |
![]() ![]() I so wish you had finished this delightful tale. Oh well. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Don't know if this will ever be read - but please finish. After reading you AN to Ch.8,I'm hoping it was not the criticisms you received that stopped this being continued. I, at least, don't find it either parody or cliche. Harry MAY be a little 'over-powered', but the release of his powers can explain that (even if it IS a trope or cliche, somewhat). The release of knowledge on donning 'the Potter Ring' IS a trope/cliche, too, but only to ALL 'HPFF', to some extent, if you don't resort to years "under Time Compression" (ULTIMATE cliche!) where he can learn things ABC...WXYZ Dumbles has kept him away from. The only real 'criticism' in 13 chapters? Where did Neville get a wand for the Diagon Alley fight? |
![]() ![]() Minerva - 701 (Sorceress): She is not THE Mistress of Transfiguration for nothing, folks. Luna - 779 (Sorceress): Say what? Fourth year here. Neville - 801 (Sorceror): Wrong wand and all. Ron - 658 (Sorceror): Coasting, but a dang fine job OF it. Ginny - 776 (Sorceress): *blerk *blerk* Another fourth-year. Hermione - 998 (Sorceress) (for now) - Where will she go once she gets that book out of her posterior? Harry - 1404 (Mage) - Power unleashed - as Riddle and Dolohov found out the hard way. |
![]() ![]() ![]() So far this is a good story. I really like the character of Amelia Bones. Harry Potter is well done, as is Hermione. Luna and Neville feel real also. Dumbledore is a difficult character to cast as genuinely remorseful because of the sheer magnitude and duration of his crimes/inaction that caused harm against Harry and others. The author gives it a real effort but it only makes me despise him more. Not the author’s fault, it’s just that canon gives too deep a hole to get out of, hence the numerous evil Dumbledore stories. Hope the author comes back to this someday. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Dumbledore is a scum bag in canon also. There is no justifying his behavior. Why he’s in any position of authority is beyond me. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I’m liking this story, but making all the ministry 6 sorcerers cheapens the title. It’s supposed to be incredibly rare. Also what happened to either suppress or grow their power? Harry’s is clear, Hermione was dying and he lost it. None of the others have previously identified such an ability. Ron can’t even get a levitation spell to work. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh man! I wish there was more to this amazing story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Eeekkk! Love the alliance. It makes so much sense and is so fun. |
