This story is so beautiful! Please finish it!
| The Faver chapter 3 . 12/31/2013
This chapter really leaves me speechless. The magazine article is perfection. I love how the journalist's misinterpretations just add weight to the truth, and how you manage to pack SO MUCH into the annotations and interactions of the interview in such a subtle way. It's amazing. And the emails read like real emails, just like the texts in your "Small Price of Pleasure" made me smile from how realistically brief and cute they are, all without being trivial to the story.
Honestly, to me, you are the single best Ouran author out there. And not just because you write my OTP. You really capture the level of trust between Kyouya and Kaoru, but even the rest of the characters are done flawlessly. I mentioned this in my "One Seventh" review, but I really do love your characterization of Mori, because he's the one character that is most overlooked, but you really enrich his role in the group. Everyone is significant to each other, which is hard to get across with seven main characters but pretty essential to the Ouran universe. In fact, I think you pull it off even better than the manga (which is so heavily focused on Haruhi's interactions).
And it all feels so real and alive. The amount of thought and detail in your stories is incredible. Like how you interweave the Roi Grande. Or the brand name "Flamingo&Maya," which is stunningly perfect. You have such good taste in everything; you're an artist.
I could go on and on all day about all the things I love in your fics, but I'll stop here. :-)
I've really missed your writing.

NO IT DID NOT PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE IT MADE ME SOB.
Just kidding yes I did smile a lot too. Because you are an expert in using your words to drown readers in emotion, whether positive or negative.
The first two chapters though, oh man. I wasn't going to read this at all because I've been tortured enough by other amazing authors who murder their characters. And knowing your skill, I knew I wouldn't be able to read this without bawling like a baby. Hikaru was crying. WHEN HIKARU CRIES, IT'S DAMN SERIOUS AND YOU HAVE TO CRY TOO. But I'm glad for all that fluff. I love fluff. Especially knowing how much they've been through to be together.
I love the name you picked for Yasuhiro and Tamaki-and-Haruhi's daughter. They are both very fitting.
Kyouya and Kaoru's relationship does feel real, indeed. There is a sense of "we've done this before but it never gets old" that really suits them. The thing about "pretending to hide the fact that they're not actually pretending" makes it so much more precious.
By the way, I'm still very curious about the email that Hikaru needed to wash his brain out after seeing in the first chapter of In Medias Res. I NEED TO KNOW.

The first two chapters utterly destroyed me. This chapter was beautiful fluff. The concept of telling a love story in reverse is wonderful. The slow build of a relationship and the fluff that comes after is my favorite part of a story. Thank you for sharing and I hope you can find the time/want ect. to continue it. Either way it was beautiful, so thank you

Any plans to continue this? And other incomplete fics?

I hope you don't mind if I review all three chapters in one sitting, because I read all three in one sitting today, and I have to say I was absolutely blown away.
Chapter 1 (or the prologue) was brilliant. Kaoru using Hikaru's passport, the fact that Hikaru had to tell Kaoru what happened...and the poem at the beginning, dear god, the poem...It really brought out how Kaoru felt, and I don't think I was crying here, and I know you mentioned that this was written so you could indulge in fluff (which I love too), but this part, and Chapter 2, really brought out the depth of the feelings Kaoru has for Kyouya, and it made the fluff mean so much more to me...so don't feel sad that we thought it would make us cry, because it really is a testament to your writing and to your portrayal of their relationship that we did cry, because we could feel Kaoru's grief (love turned into an eternal missing...might I add that I really love your use of poems and quotes?) and in turn, we could feel his love for Kyouya.
Chapter 2 was the chapter that had me in tears...It was sad, but it was sweet at the same time, and the fact that Kyouya would prepare for this eventuality is really quite realistic (because Kyouya is always prepared) and the fact that he wrote letters and kept an account of their life together is...it's just so Kyouya, and I love how you had Kyouya write the accounts in a book that was just like his famous notebook...
Chapter 3 made me smile, and it made me laugh at some points at just how cute they are together and when they interact with the rest of the Host Club As I mentioned earlier, somehow, knowing how it ended made the fluff mean so much more, and I think it was partly because I knew how Kaoru felt at the end, and the sacrifices he made to have Kyouya buried at his family plot, that really made their relationship real to me, because life itself isn't always happy so I've always believed I have to see a couple at both the high points and low points to really see the depth of their relationship...The 'love story told in reverse' angle is really quite cool, because we get to skip past the "getting together, dancing around each other" stages to the "been together for X years" stage, which, as you mentioned, is really the most fluffy part of it :D
I'm not sure if in all my rambles above I managed to bring my meaning across but I hope it makes sense, and if nothing else in this review is clear, I just want to tell you that I do feel like they've had a life together, and that their relationship does feel real to me :)

I cried. Four separate times in a row. TTATT Not in a bad way, of course, just in a 'the-combination-of-beauty-great-writing-tragedy-bittersweetness-general-epicness-and-hormones-is-getting-to-me-dammit' kind of way. XD You obviously put a lot of time, thought, and work into this. Great story! \o/
| Serelinda chapter 3 . 9/9/2011
It took me 3 days of reading this in little bits in my spare time, but I finally finished reading the first 3 chapters. I'm super excited for chapter 4! The idea intrigues (which I probably spelt wrong) me and I love the way you wrote it.
| riana rox chapter 3 . 8/31/2011
This chapter really did make me smile. It was sweet and adorable, just the way I like it. Keep it up! And out of curiosity, which other movies do you plan on adapting?
| lucretia1979 chapter 3 . 8/31/2011
Yes, my face is smiling now. Very nice chapter, can't wait for the next one...
| jaeholife chapter 3 . 8/31/2011
srs the more I read this chapter the more integrating they become, I really loved the different method of writing style of chapters of urs and the development of the character is also great though I would also love to read more about Kyouya's parents reaction to his before marriage but nevertheless I really think that you did the good job in writing this.. i am really waiting for the next chapter. Thank you for the hard work XD
| jaeholife chapter 2 . 8/24/2011
Though I have never seen the actual film but I am really looking forward to this fanfic, since I really wanted to read something similar to this and here it is.. XD thank you so much for writing this
| SadisticReborn chapter 2 . 8/24/2011
i totally LOVED this :') I haven't watched P.S. I Love You, but you are making me really interested in it :) I'm afraid I might shed a fair amount of tears though :p I really loved your story and hope to read more :)
Kyouya is so sweet in this story, so loving, so caring, so dear :) I think I would be completely broken if a loved one left me, so I'm so glad that Kyouya did this for Kaoru :) I can't wait for more and keep it up :) I would be very sad to see it stopped :)
| lucretia1979 chapter 2 . 8/23/2011
That was amazing! Can't wait for the next chapter...
| riana rox chapter 1 . 8/23/2011
I have a feeling this story will make me cry. A lot. But in any case, it's still wonderful, even though I'm really not a big fan of character deaths. They make me sob and everyone stares at me weirdly when I read them :P The story sounds amazing though, and I'll definitely be waiting for more chapters, as with To Become One Seventh. Thanks for the wonderful chapter! :)
