Was as children they were used in a two part upgraded experiment they completed part 1, and were separated and the second part to begin when they hit twenty but the war began and the people who ran the experiment only got back together after the war.
The second part was to be public to show people and government they had found a way to get people to befriend each other even if they were brought up differently.
So they got government support and rounded up the ones on earth who stayed which was all but one and started part 2 when they began broadcasting activating the kiznaiver.
Harlock who had been doing a supply drop for food people on earth needed was moving past the area to get to his spacewolf when they did the test to prove that it was not a lie and was heard then dragged over

You know time capsules
What if harlock did a video for one during his last year at the military acadamy he was at before the war.
What if they dug it out early and broadcast the contents to the entire world

you know in arcadia of are youth the machine that showed the some of the past of the harlock and oyama family's, what is someone got a hold of the blue prints improved them to go back further back like gun frontier time period than captured harlock and tochiro as live test subjects and broadcast it live to the universe

To the Guest with a question - in the original series Kei is a sixteen year old girl. Tadashi is a 14 year old boy. Harlock is 28 years old in My Youth in Arcadia, and thirty in SSX, when Kei comes aboard. She's much younger in all of them. In the latest, some 130 plus years younger... Its why thus far she's not shown as a love interest.

Mayu is 7 in SPCH, and 10 in the new reboot. She dies at age ten, but we don't know what happened.

Tochiro is supposed to be two years younger than Harlock in one, and two years older in another. Warrius Zero is older than Harlock in Cosmo Warrior, by at least 5 years, possibly 10. Harlock is early 20's in Cosmo, and still mouthy and cocky; devil may care. Zero is more mature and much less bratty than Harlock.

Both Emeraldas and Maetel are older than Harlock, and there is some speculation that Harlock met them before MYIA, when he was an early teen, aboard the 999. Another story we don't have...

This is easily the most fun title and summary combo I've seen today. :) I'm not familiar with the fandom (browsing the archives) but really enjoyed this first chapter. The level of detail you put in, especially toward the clothes, is excellent. There were a few minor punctuation errors around dialogue (mainly lack of commas), but nothing too life-changing. Chapter 2 was a sad chapter, in which you fixed the feelings of our captain very well, I think.
