![]() ![]() ![]() I read this yesterday but never got around to reviewing. And that's my bad. This was so good. I love the ending with just Danny and Kono talking. It is sad that she remembers too much when he is trying so hard to remember *any* of it. But these last lines are priceless: "Well, that figures," he says flippantly. "I'm finally a hero and I don't even remember the details." "That's okay, Danny," she says softly, putting her other hand on top of his and squeezing it lightly. "I'll remember for the both of us." Great job! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice epilogue. Neat...as in nice symmetry in one remembering, one not - one wanting to remember, one wanting to forget. Did I detect a bit of Kono/Danny shipping going on there? I rather like the way that some of what went on is not fully described, beyond Kono's abridged version that is - it adds realism to what Danny is experiencing. Your description of Kono's fears when Danny fell is great though. Congratulations and thanks for a great read. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I very much enjoyed this story! Great job! I really liked how you went from memories to the present... well done! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I guess there is something worse than not remembering. Of course, if anything would have happened to Kono, Danny would not have felt that way. I think it's a really nice way to end this story. The two people who endured the most just talking it out. That's not to say that Steve and Chin didn't endure any less, they must have been going sick with worry. |
![]() ![]() ![]() so glad we got "the rest of the story" from kono. and I love the ending with kono saying she'd remember for both of them. sigh. wonderful story and great job! |
