What a beautiful finale for these great 27 chapters.
I know it was a funeral but I had to LOL at Deeks choosing this particular time to say ILY to Kensi. And how interesting that Hetty watched them from the car. I also was very intrigued by the 'stand-off' between Hetty and Deeks. Hetty implying to him that she knew, Deeks knowing she fired a warning shot so as to say. Splendidly written.
Also really heartwarming scene between Deeks and Libby and when Deeks was looking at all the photographs which Jim enjoyed looking at.
Ha ha, I was amused that the church minister surfs!
The ending was a little unexpected but then again, I've read stories where Deeks becomes an NCIS agent so I guess its a different type of story where he doesn't. And anyway, in the show he hasn't become an agent yet meaning he loves being a cop.
I shall start on your sequel asap.

I kinda love to see how Kensi and Deeks are gonna keep this away from Hetty, Sam and Callen cos although those 3 are not remotely as nosey as the 3 partners (McGee, Tony and Ziva) in the original about each other's lives, they are quite observant and according to somethings said in the episodes, Hetty seems to have an eye on her people even when they are outside work!

Great that Jim Weiss sent Deeks a letter to give him closure and also that Deeks went to the graveyard and said what he had to say to his father. Gosh, what an awful man and how nice that Deeks turned out to be what he is even with such a bad parent no. I am sure we'll meet his mum in a future ep.

I also like that Kensi asked Deeks to call Laura and explain. I know the story is about Densi's relationship but I wonder what Laura is doing with her life and whether she's fully recovered from her assault etc. I am glad this story has a sequel cos there's a lot of material to further explore. I don't think its even remotely easy to live and work together. I don't know if you watched CSI NY. There was a married couple in that - Danny and Lindsay but they frequently worked with other people in the field, visited different sites etc. But here, Kensi and Deeks are always together, even at work so IMO, that won't make it too easy to work and live together. Of course I have every confidence that they'll manage but it will involve a lot of work.

I simply don't have words to describe how beautiful this chapter was. It is definitely my favorite out of the 25 I read so far.
So glad they had this difficult conversation (and I love all the little steps building up to it like her breaking down in his arms). Of course neither of them can guarantee that nothing will happen but even in Castle, Castle and Beckett had this conversation when they were sure they were both going to die, they were like 'we should have gotten together 4 years ago, (basically instead of procrastinating). So love the conclusion they came to and of course Kensi resisting the urge to run.

I've heard of Sting but not the song but I'll make it a point to listen to it cos I want to listen to the music which played at your wedding. I am not a great fan of pop music or singers although there are some tunes I like.

I am a terrible cook myself (in that I don't cook) so I was LOL at Deeks looking surprised at Kensi's offer to make him a sandwich and thinking that cooking is not one of the many skills Kensi possesses (sadly I don't even possess that many skills, just the skill of teaching I gues!). It was very funny when he asked to warn his neighbors and check his home insurance.

Loved their little chat at the end, Deeks saying he wants them to continue working together and figure things out as they go and Kens saying the same thing.
Also liked the beginning. Good that Jim Weiss is getting a full police honors funeral. I am on holiday this weekend with my dad by the beach and we were watching a range of shows NCIS, Castle and Elementary among them. Watched one ep of LA 'higher power'. He enjoyed and its one of my favs.

Great to finally see fruits of Deeks' investigations and Russo going down. As I've said before, I am not sure why Deeks doesn't give up his cop badge and become an agent. I know he loves doing cop work but an agent is like a Navy cop sort of as they refer to them on the original.
Glad they got the guy who assaulted Laura Weiss too.

I didn't like the plot of last week's ep much but loved Deeks and Kensi surfing and going undercover together. Kinda reminded me of Imahistorian's 'Truth be Told' where they went undercover together as a surfing couple!

Hi, another splendid chapter. Love the way Sam was looking at Kensi and doing all his thinking. Perhaps in the near future, you could do another KD piece but incorporating into it, what we know about Sam's own history.
Liked how Hetty passed on the thanks of the San Diego team to Kensi.
Look forward to reading about Kensi/Deeks' chat about Kensi's fear about experiencing something similar to what Melissa did.
It was touching when Osbourne and the other guy visited Deeks in hospital and Deeks realized there were some 'good guys'.
I was LOL when Hetty told Eric that in a situation like what they had with Tan, she wouldn't tell her own mother what she's doing (when he asked if they can't just ask the Brits). Ha ha, the Brits thinking Callen was a flower exporter!
Love the Alias reference by the way. Still one of my top 10 shows and Jennifer Garner was at the time, my favorite actress on tv. Of course I still like her but haven't seen any shows/movies with her lately after the movie 'Kingdom'.

I LOVED the KD 'reunion'. Well, their first conversation when he was fully awake and also, her freezing as she remembered Melissa's despair and Deeks sensing something is wrong but resisting the urge to push her to talk about it.

The banter between Callen, Sam and Deeks was hilarious, specially when the nurse gave Deeks her phone number and Sam asked how this shaggy guy got more action than Callen! My sister loves Callen. But she thinks he's so serious sometimes. Now, by my influence, she loves the original more than the spin off but she still loves Callen closely followed by Deeks.
I wonder what Callen and Sam will say when they find out Kensi and Deeks are dating, not to mention don't know what Hetty will say!

Thanks for telling me which ep the Shaggy reference was. I watched Tin Soldiers less than a month ago cos I love Kensi going undercover.
Did you like last week's episode? I was very intrigued by Sam's wife being an ex spy also. So something like how Kensi and Deeks met no (I mean in fics) working in the same task force and then getting married and having a family and she giving that up but now thinking it was actually the life meant for her. Really interesting.

Wow, fantastic chapter. One of my favorite chapters in this story I think, simply cos of all the different layers.

* Love the whole meet up between Danny Wong and his dad and the dad convincing the Chinese government that his brother in law and nephew were spies and making their assassination 'sanctioned'.
* Loved Callen letting the Chinese guy go because he trusted his gut and the reference to Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Don't know if you are a huge fan of the original but it has been my favorite tv show out of all the shows on tv for nearly 2 years now, since in 2010, I went and got the dvds for season 3. Such an amazing show and I am I think among the 'fanatical' fans who go and chat on a forum etc. I absolutely love the cast of the original and have a signed picture of them on my bedroom wall. No one quite like that cast on tv I think and I am thinking even of my current number 1 tv show Voyager. I love watching Gibbs and his team in action. My parents are also huge fans and more recently my sister who actually was a huge fan of the spin off before I lent her the original just over 2 months ago. I don't read any fics for the original though, probably cos I don't ship a couple as such. I mean, I like Tony and Ziva as people very much just as I like McGee, Abby, the doctor and Palmer but they've been beating around the bush for so long now so I don't really ship them as a couple.
* Oh, great quote at the start of the chapter.
* Kensi watching the reunion between Danny and his fiance and reflecting on the recent love of her life had my heart warming.
* Adored Hetty telling Kensi to go home and then going and sitting at Deeks' hospital bedside.
* Callen telling the CIA agent that he had already been to hell since he worked for the CIA and annoying him was very funny.
* The tactic used by Knowles to get the coconspirators for what happened to Deeks was very nicely done. And I also like what Knowles said about Deeks - that he's a good cop. And of course, Deeks thinking that he should become an NCIS agent. I think the show should really go in that direction. Just like Ziva (in the original) changed from being a Liaison officer to a full NCIS agent.
* Sam thinking about his family and that he would kill for his family was very interesting. Did you watch this week's ep? I don't want to spoil you if you didn't but I found this plot line really interesting. It gave us a lot of backstory about Sam and turned him from being just an ordinary character on a tv show I love, to a character I really like and am intrigued by what happens next.

Thanks for answering my question about Kensi's love for sugar. Do you recall which episode Sam called Deeks 'Shaggy'? And Deeks made a witty comeback. Not a season 4 one.

I've had a crazy week with my lazy students who decide to wait until the last minute to revise for exams. Its exam week next week. I do plan to finish reading the story by the end of the month!

Wow, awesome chapter.
I loved the teamwork between Callen and Sam here and them getting one up on the CIA! In the episode 'Archangel' I was laughing so hard cos they got 1 up on the FBI.
I didn't really get the joke with the 12 Missisipi's but it didn't matter at all. Hilarious that the CIA didn't know they had this spy until the NCIS pointed it out to them. But terrible for that Melissa's fiance to be sold out by a fellow countryman.
Very funny when Hetty wondered why Vance needed a phone when his voice was so loud overi t!
Really interesting plotline about Danny and his father.
I was wondering if you had thought of writing fics for any other shows. I asked Mel (imahistorian) this too, simply cos her fics are so good. She watches Castle and the original NCIS which are my number 2 and 1 shows respectively but she says she doesn't like the original as much as the spin off.
