Ahw! I loved it :) I think its great how Owen befriended Ianto and stopped at nothing to defend him, and the twist about Owen's past :) xxx

Ok I've read the first chapter, but I don't think I'll continue reading. Not because your style of writing if bad, on the contrary your style is good, your command of the language is good which is not that common for this site. There are so many stories here that can put someone off because of the slaughter of the English, however, I do not agree with how the story is unfolding. I understand from this and some of the reviews that is a continuation of another story about the same topic. I'm not saying the topic is bad, or unrealistic, I'm only saying that the way it is unfolding don't ring true to me. I had my share of seeing abusive families, and although what you are writing about the victim is absolutely realistic, and they could feel guilty or trapped, they would also not completely forgive the abusive partner. The main thing apart of the fact that Owen as a doctor would act to confront Jack and consult Ianto, is that I just don't see Ianto as a victim. He could pack quite a punch. I'm not saying that everything in Jack and Ianto's relationship was honey and roses, I'm sure that they could have exchanged some punches at some point, however, I'm also sure that if that's the case, as with John Hart, Ianto would have given as good as he took. Your topic is controversal, interesting and worth exploration but I think you would have been more successful with an original work and characters, then I think I would read it until the end. Thank you for sharing with us anyway, and making us think and dispute, its always a good thing.

Love the incorperated emotion that Owen feels and what he reveals about himself

I'm so glad to see this chapter addressed my concerns about domestic violence. It doesn't matter that I see Jack differently to you - it's your story, and the characters can be however you want to make them. It's nice to see Owen-Ianto friendship too.

I noticed the one review thought Jack could never be like that
But I've always *thought* Jack was a *,user*
With the mentality of keep your freinds close but your enemies closer.
Some of the episodes of the TV series seemed to *point* in that direction
At least to me..now I know people will more than likely throw stones at me ..BUT that's my first impression and I'm afraid it stuck ..shrugs...

I'm finding this story a bit like a train wreck - I don't like the contents, but can't look away. This ISN'T a criticism of your writing - but rather the fact that both Owen and especially Ianto, are accepting the blame for Jack's domestic violence. The victim is NEVER to blame. Jack being apologetic afterwards is typical of the 'honeymoon period' part of the cycle of domestic violence, where they are sorry, loving and considerate again, until the next time they're angry and blame the victim for their own loss of control. As the team doctor, Owen should not only counsel Ianto about this, but should also confront Jack. (sorry for the rant, but I work in a related area)
