Ooh, that metaphor was just brillant! Honestly, it was great. I usually can't stand reflective, first person pieces, but this one was incredible. *Clap;clap* Well done.

"I refuse to let myself fall in love with Rose Tyler. But then she takes my hand and I know it's too late." Brb sobbing in a corner...

This is beautiful. You have summed up the Doctor in a few paragraphs and allowed us a glimpse into his mind. I believe you hit the nail on the head with your take on his feelings for Rose as well. He's loved all of his companions... but Rose is special and she did heal him after the war (well, as much as he can be healed) As I said before, Beautiful.

Another great one, and a perfect companion to 'The Doctor's Hands'. That last line made me want to cry. :] Can't wait to read more!

Yet another beautiful one-shot. I love the relationship between them that comes through in this story, and I love the symbolism of the candle. Beautiful.
Incidentally, Sally Sparrow's "happy, for deep people" line is my favourite of that whole season. It really fits as an alternate title to this!
