Radbooks chapter 23 . 2/28/2007 Oh how wonderful to have an update to this marvelous story! I have always hoped that you might continue it as it is one of my favorites that I've re-read several times even knowing it wasn't complete... I know that may sound funny, but it is just such a great story. I'm so worried about Anakil being off and on his own again even though I thought that might have to happen. It really is a desperate time and they have no choice. If your other betas do not contact you, I would be willing to help. I did notice some errors here and there but not too many. My email is on my profile page if you want to contact me. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to another update. ;) |
My name is irrelevant chapter 22 . 2/11/2007 I know it's been over two years since you updated this story, but is there a chance you'll come back? I really like what you've done so far, especially with characterizations, and I want to know if Anarion, Anagor and the Poet are still alive. |
acacia59601 chapter 22 . 1/24/2007 This is a really engaging story! I hope you update it soon! |
Redone chapter 22 . 6/28/2006 Oh, please, do continue! It's been AGES, and this is one of a mere handful of truly good Boromir stories out there; and your portrayal of army life and battles is breathtakingly realistic, I swear I can *hear* and *smell* everything. |
Despo chapter 22 . 2/13/2006 This story is wonderful! I love the way you imagine and describe the life of Gondor's soldiers, especially the Rangers! Your story line is great! I looked at the date this story was last updated. One year and two months ago... In the hope that you haven't abandoned this story I plead for the next chapter! ( I know it is no easy job to write a fanfiction, especially not a story of this caliber, but PLEASE start writing again!) |
Soledad chapter 22 . 11/3/2005 Hi Shakes, Sorry I'm late - lost a lot of bookmarks due a kajor computer crash... *and* a lot of e-mail addresses, including yours. Anyway, I'm very happy to have found this story again, and to see that you've actually updated. This is practically my favourite among the stories feautring Boromir, although he isn't even the main character. But I love what you are doing with him, and I love your vivid descriptions of Osgiliath - and your battle scenes are among the best I have ever read. I sincerely hope that we'll see more of Anakil's adventures and I'm waiting anyiously what will become of him. |
Susan chapter 22 . 8/28/2005 Hi Shakes, I love this story. I was wondering if you were still writing the story? Or if you just stopped posting to Is it posted elsewhere? Thanks for sharing the story! Susan |
MissBubbles chapter 22 . 3/22/2005 This story is amazing! I've been reading for a while now and just finished your most recent chapter. Your storyline is completely original and your characterizations are wonderful. I especially enjoy your scenes with the Itilien rangers, each one has their own personality and is written perfectly. Please update this! It's fabulous! |
queenieb chapter 22 . 2/19/2005 Wow. This is an extraordinary story, very well crafted indeed. You have done a wonderful job of filling out the known characters and creating likable original characters. I'm at the edge of my seat! I hope you will update this soon. |
spacecow1 chapter 22 . 2/5/2005 Just beautiful... I'm crazy about this story, and I'm so glad you finally updated! I was getting worried... :-) Anyway, amazing story- and an amazing chapter. Waiting for more! |
horsiegurl chapter 22 . 12/13/2004 I think it has been more than 3 months since you updated. In fact I think it has almost been a year. I liked the chapter. Please update soon. |
Radbooks chapter 22 . 12/11/2004 Thanks so much for updating your wonderful story! I so love Anakil and the way you have written Boromir and Faramir. You portray them so well - very believable. It's just such a unique and interesting story to read about those times during Gondor's history. I hope the Poet is alive some where though I know the chances of that are slim... but there is always Hope! :) Well done and thanks for writing! |
Carrie S chapter 22 . 12/8/2004 *does a happy dance* I thought this story had died, and was *so* excited when I saw this udpate! The interaction between the brothers was wonderful, made even more so by Faramir's moving outburst at the end of the chapter. Beautiful. I hope to see more soon! |
perelleth chapter 22 . 12/8/2004 Wow! Welcome back! yours was the first story I read.. I was introduced in fanfiction world in july 2003,during a period in which I spent lots of time abroad and alone. A friend sent me the link and I must confess I thought everything in fanfiction world was as good as this story (so wrong then...) I've been re reading from time to time, for I find the story is fantastic! the way that war is seen through the eyes of a youngster, and such a particular troublesome but lovely one! I'm truly glad you've found the way to be back, I'd love to see Anakil through this terrible situation... I hope any of his missing friends or brothers has survived... but at least the ugly horse is still around! I'll keep coming back for more! |
Namarie chapter 22 . 12/8/2004 Dear Shakes, finally an up-date, I feared that you had given up. But let me tell you, it was worth waiting for! The interaction between the brothers is just marvellous, I loved the comparison of Faramir to his father Denethor (soo perfectly book-cannon!). Anakil is such a wonderful OC and you portray him with such a sensitivity, just great! Please, please, go on with your story soon! Well if not it is definitely worth waiting for, just don't abandon it! Thanks a lot for your effort, you really made my day, Namarie |
