im suddenly seeing a LOT of references... I'm LOVING them! Klendathu, "I will get very choked up. Honestly, there could be tears", nerfherders, and several others i cant quite remember. i was rather surprised to see keldathu and "tears" show up, REALLY wasnt expecting those links to show up in a mass effect/star trek X/over.

but off of the references, I am LOVING this sotry! It's brilliant how you took 12-13 chapters to build upteh back story and how the borg came to be in this AU, along with how you made everything develop in its own time and way

This is a great story, but I have to say that I almost forgot this was also a Mass Effect fanfic, due to the lack of ME references.

This is just a quick review note to say that i think you made the right choice doing a slow build up. The story feels like a real science fiction story with gravitas and its own personal mythos. To be honest i found the first 13 chapters to be more interesting then the current contact war plot line. Each reader to their own i guess. Hoping the war is wrapped up soon, as the fallout from said war looks like it will be very interesting.

In the AN, you say the Borg have a gray morality. While that is true, I think they are slowly moving into blue-and-orange-morality territory. They just don't think like most humans anymore.
Also, I like the slow development, it drives home just what the Borg is about and will probably remove confusion as to some of their actions later. It also sheds light on their relationship with their parent species.
One thing I wonder, do the Collective drones reproduce among themselves or do they rely on assimilation to increase their numbers? In the latter case, always limiting assimilation to a certain percent of a species might be in their best interest.

Took a while now the good part is slowly showing... lots of background story...

so when are we going to see what the Borg are doing about this invasion instead of more excerpts of what various soldiers are doing when the odds are we will never hear about them again when the invasion is over

I'm a bit concerned about the practice of forcibly implanting criminals. It seems like if it is done enough it could negatively alter the Collective.

well, I reread the whole thing to refresh my memory. I apparently didn't favourite this story so I missed several chapter updates. This time I'll make sure to favo the story though so I'll keep up to date.

The story is moving onward albeit a bit slow for my tastes. Borg vs Turian... I wonder which will be the victor?
