Really confused. I mean, I get that you want the Borg complete with random cybernetics hanging off them, but at least have the 'public' drones looking photogenic and appealing.

It's not that difficult and they aren't that alien that they cannot grasp this basic aspect of human manipulation.

Going 'Full Borg' just seems silly. You could have the public concerned because there are leaked pictures of modified worker drones behind the scenes, where appearances don't matter, but at least the public ones should be appealing visually.

Same with with emotions. Emulation isn't that hard, they have the memories and brainpower and there are already decent models of emotions, facial expressions, vocal ranges, etc

You could have it that they simply don't bother when not in public, and this freaks people out.

A hivemind, nanobots, fusion reactors, a space elevator, quantum supercomputers, a colony on the moon, and they couldn't just spin the ships to simulate gravity until they got 'gravity manipulation'?

Frankly I expected Mercury to be partway assimilated by now with the beginnings of a Dyson Swarm.

Wondering why, since they have nanobots that can do brain surgery and body repairs, he's frail at all.

Your obsessed with charecter dialog thats for sure but at least there used to be a point to it and the unending conversation at least had a point and made sense...now its just boring filler crap! I want to say one thing, so much time was focus on the past, that it became to much originality that you lost control and interest. I had always figure out that you will likely abandon this story. As I read it, I had this feeling at the length of time it was taking for the background, which could have been written in Codex, it caused me to believe that you would never finish it. When I first got this feeling, it was by the third chapter long ago. I kept following it and hoping that you would wise up and move to the good stuff. But when the First Contact War came about, and the time you were spending on writing it, I knew this would be likely abandoned. I am not sure when you started writing, were you in school or collage, but I bet that life got to you, heck new games could have done the same thing. This is my last review for this story. It was a good idea, but the background was overwhelming that it got boring, not something I would place in adventure category.
