![]() ![]() ![]() Good to see this story still kicking |
![]() ![]() ![]() i was confused a bit with cyria using earth terms had to reread it but i understand what you were trying to do |
![]() ![]() ![]() IT LIVES! I'm so happy! |
![]() ![]() ![]() The fights, dialogue, and atmosphere were not bad though not immensely great. The most interesting part I found was when Cyria seemed to projecting human memories/knowledge/culture into her perception of the fight which I felt demonstrated the Collective was still figuring out how to fully assimilate Turians. The two Turians discussion of the events was a nice twist in that Verraan was not simple accepting a scolding and while his excuse was kind of flimsy it made abit of sense especially if they had taken the planet quick enough. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love the chapter and I can't wait to read what happens next when you have the time :-) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice to see the Borg's iconic adapting-shields being implemented. Now that the Borg has escaped with the Pride of Digeris, I wonder if the Borg will attempt diplomatic talks with the Turians and the Citadel—or just continue to the whole push-invaders-out strategy. Your version of assimilation comes across as being overwhelmed by a larger consensus: makes sense that any individual would be smothered by a nation spanning hive mind. Don't beat yourself up to much. This chapter, once again, is a nice read that retains the consistently-solid grammatical poise and story-intrigue found throughout every chapter of this story. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm just happy that you've finally posted another chapter of this. Out of all of the ME fics I follow or have read, this is the one for which I'm anticipating new chapters the most. I have a real fondness for seeing how first-contact evokes interesting novel reactions from known groups and this promises to evoke some of the most interesting reactions yet. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's back? It's back! Yay! I liked this chapter. Seeing the invasion from the point of view of the invaders as it all goes wrong is always fun. I do agree that the assimilation POV wasn't perfect, mostly because it felt more like she was hallucinating than being assimilated, but it got the point across. All said, though, I still enjoy this story, and hope there are many more fun chapters to come. Thanks! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Are my eyes playing tricks on me? They must be, because I just saw my mailbox with an alert that A Technological Singularity had updated, yet here I am and the chapter is pure gold! The fight scene was nicely done and I could feel the terror the Turians were going through. And Cyria? I actually feel bad for her (not really). I don't know when the next update will arrive, but I hope it eventually does. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's been over a year again, I hope you do continue it. It may have had a bit of a slow start, but even that was very interesting, it would be a real shame to abandon it just as things start to heat up; there are just SO MANY possibilities! |
![]() ![]() Thank you for writing this book. I was looking for information on the technological singularity. I have read chapters 14 through 21 Hop you can finish the book. Dennis Konkel |
![]() ![]() I have read the last five chapters. They are finally figuring out what the difference is between their world and the world the birds come from. Thank you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wwhhhooooooo! Future Burt Gummer for the win. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Were you on a Face-Off kick for this chapter? |
![]() ![]() ![]() It should be interesting to see how the Citadel reacts to the Borg. I'm going to guess they will see them as being worse than AI's. Looking forward to the next update! |
