![]() ![]() ![]() Also wouldn't Sydyk be able to sense that Methos is NOT Tanith? Since he has no Naquadah in his blood. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really really really hate that you've completely erased any and all mystique and power the Immortals had. You've turned them into random generic people who happen to not die. All the mysticism of the Immortals, of the Quickening, of their other seemingly supernatural powers, gone. Next I imagine you'll show how a random Jaffa can beat up an Immortal too, and how convenient that Goa'uld are capable of taking Immortals as hosts... why didn't they? If Goa'uld can take Immortals as hosts why didn't they? Their new host would obviously be superior, and erase the need for a Sacrophagus. Also, why didn't Amanda behead Sydyk? That would have cut through the host and the Goa'uld at the same time. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is excellent! I really liked how you built this. First it seemed like just a Highlander meets SG1 -which is good enough on its own- but then you blended in the Hebron/Tanith storylines into Methos's own timeline? Brilliant. Loved it! I too always felt bad for what Hebron got handed, so it was very interesting to find out more... and that he wasn't who we thought he was at all! I also liked that mention of Mac having known a guy who looked an awful lot like our good friend Daniel Jackson, lol. I really think you captured the personality of our beloved characters very nicely (though there were one or two times I admittedly wondered why Methos was making it obvious to Daniel that he knew more than he should, for example knowing dead languages well enough to reply back with snark. Then again, Methos does have quite an ego :P ). But yes, loved it. Was not expecting Amanda to get taken by the Goa'uld, that surprised me! And the Immortal FBI guy being a decent fellow was also a nice surprise. And the pre-Immortal McCafferty and the results of his death near a stargate? Very clever. The cameos of Mac, Joe, Mitchell, and Vala were icing on the cake. Daniel's thoughts back to earlier SG missions and the former SG1 team were great and were both relevant to the story and reminded me as well of episodes I haven't seen in ages. The notes at the end of the chapters were super helpful. It has been awhile since I've seen SG1 and I'm actually 20 years late to the party that is the Highlander series (but I'm finishing my catchup now) so the notes were great to jog my memory. Cheers on a great story! And now... I must go rewatch SG1. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Great story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() You write such an awesome Methos. Even though he clearly runs up against much more than he planned for, he’s so much fun. The sarcasm and occasional badassery just feels quintessential Methos. The scene where he knocks out the drunken enraged immortal with joes cane and a napkin dispenser is priceless. Thanks for writing this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was an absolutely fantastic story. You got the characters down perfectly and you made it so fascinating. Perfectly handled every plot twist |
![]() ![]() I have been waiting for *years* for this to be finished! So glad it's finally complete, and the end of it is completely, perfectly satisfying. Great job! *And* you've started a sequel! I freaking love you. :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well played Methos, well played! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh my, I love how Dixon just grunted "aliens". That cracked me up! Now a grand total of three Immortals are in Colorado Springs and now know about aliens. McCormick's FBI job just got weirder. How will the three handle Sydyk and keeping their Immortality from the SGC? Because they all agree that no government should know about them but Amanda's been possessed and Methos is minutes away from attempting to remove the Gao'uld from her (soon to be dead) body. Wouldn't that just be a peachy scene for Daniel and co to walk in on? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I thought maybe Sydyk had inhabited Kinsey, especially with Daniel recognizing his description. Whoo! But oh crap, another Immortal! Either it's a friendly (Macleod, better not have flown over) or they aren't. Which of course means the Game is on. Will the Gao'uld be able to sense the Buzz? Probably, considering it's a bodily reaction. I wonder how Sydyk will react. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Good on Methos to get Sydyk out of the house without anyone dying (hopefully the old man can get treatment). Said older man must be confused as all hell that "one of them" would act compassionately toward him. Unfortunately, he was fully conscious and heard what the creature who'd been infecting him called Methos. That's going to ruffle Daniel's feathers like nothing else. He's probably going to think that Methos re-descended after his accidental death at first blush. How will Methos continue? Kill Amanda and try to extract the Goa'uld? Continue to string Sydyk along while he figures out what the hell to do? (likely) Give in and call Daniel? (unlikely) I'm looking forward to what happens next! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Uh oh! I wondered if Amanda or Methos would actually be possessed or if they would just run into Daniel at the house. This is a much more visceral way of learning of the Gao'uld. Plus, they can't just take off when Daniel sees that Adam isn't actually dead. No no, Daniel and Methos are going to have to work together on this one! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm thinking Amanda found a Gao'uld. The Immortals are about to discover the SGC's secret methinks. That'll be fun. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome! Daniel is putting some clues together with some outside prompting from Skaara. I wonder what he'll do with his knowledge. Methos and Amanda won't be happy to know that the secret of the Immortals is nearly discovered. Though this would be helpful to them as a people. Shame about the Game getting in the way. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is so awesome. Alternate SG1 hello again! Truthfully I had totally forgotten about that episode and I am happy there is a canon tie to explain things. Daniel, Lam, and Landry are all rationalizing Methos' DNA and also his 'spotty' memory, saving Methos the trouble. Hilarious! But! They may also be correct. Immortals; where did they actually come from? What is the natural lifespan of a re-embodied Ancient? Fun stuff to think about. |
