Well, it certainly doesn't feel complete.

I'm all for open endings but this story is simply begging for a true conclusion.

Don't get me wrong it is extremely well made and yoru narrative and grammar are fantastic; the plot is very involving and deep, it did remind me to Star Wars at one point or the other but that's always a good thing in my book.

Hopefully, some day you'll feel inspired enough to add to this interersting tale.

This was simply amazing. I don't believe I have yet read a MLP fic of such depth. Very, very well done. I truly hope that there will be more to come.

This is excellent work! Has a lot of emotion to it and the flashbacks gave a good amount of history behind the story without ruining the flow. I can not wait to read the shorts that are in development. Great job!

I really enjoyed this. Spike's last line giving the whole story was a nice touch.

Though it certainly feels complete on its own, I wouldn't be too adverse to some short follow up pieces.

This was...absolutely heartwrenching to read, frankly. Twilight is, along with Dash, my favorite pony, so to see her like this is saddening. Even more so to know that, even if the Dawn eventually wins out with her help, she'll never be truly accepted by those that should be her friends. I personally also have little love for Trixie, so her taking up the replacement Twilight role (by the way, AJ telling her that she's nopony's replacement was actually really touching, and a nice use of dramatic irony to boot since we all know that she really is in truth) is a double punch. I also found Spike's new relationship with her to be really interesting, even with and perhaps because we're left in the dark on how it got to where it is (and again, that ending was heartwrenching, to the point where I was getting a little choked up myself).

Honestly, there's not much else praise I can give that hasn't already been said, and said better than I could do. It's your story, but if you do decide to continue it you can count me among those that would read it the day it comes out.

Too bad this is only a oneshot. Loved it, and it was psychologically stressing. Good job!

I have to say great work here! I love stories involving Nightmare Moon or Luna, especially the darker ones, and you are really on to something here. Definitely keep it up. I look forward to more.

It's like reading an incomplete story that will never even continue, let alone finish! D: You should consider having a second chapter, which would just be the ending of the war or an epilogue, with strategic flashbacks like this one, since you seem to be opposed to writing an epic. I think everyone just needs some closure, lol.

Even if it's left as-is for all of eternity though, I'll still love it.

Okay, so here's the thing. This, is a really, REALLY good story. Of course I'm sure you've heard that before. Just one problem though - and I know you've heard this before too, on Equestria Daily, no doubt - it's COMPLETE.

Which it should not be. There is far too much potential in this land you've created for it to be over. There's so many angles from which to continue from here.

How have the others handled the new Nightmare Moon dictatorship, and the rebellion that followed. What would happen should Nightmare Moon discover Twi..er..Eclipse's plans? What if she succeeds? Will everyone accept her as a new ruler when most ponies would just see her as Nightmare Moon Version 2.0?

What about Celestia, will she ever come back? Would Eclipse destroy Celestia if she were to return? Would she drain the remaining power from her? Would she drain Nightmare Moon after SHE is defeated to ensure no one can stop her? Both?

And as starcat5 said over at ED "And where the Hay is Discord in all this?" Certainly he should be released again now that the Elements of Harmony have switched holders. Would he join the rebellion, Nightmare Moon, or form a new third party? Or maybe he'd play both sides (including Eclipse) to his advantage - or just for the hell of it.

Anyway, even if YOU don't continue this story (though, I think a lot of people would like it!) maybe someone else will make their own continuation for it. The only problem with that is it might not be as good. Plus, you might not appreciate other people messing with your work so there's that to consider also... Hmm...

However, I completely understand if you don't want to continue. Writing a story like this would take a lot of time and dedication. Which is something we don't always have to give up. None the less, great story.
