I'm Widget chapter 19 . 1/26/2012
lol I just love this. Seeing them together like this, married, enjoying each other. And the part about kids someday... priceless. Can't wait for more.
International08 chapter 19 . 1/26/2012
I love how well he reads her, and vice versa - the way the two of them just know what each other needs. Also, thank you for not translating the French. You're making me learn something!
FanficwriterGHC chapter 19 . 1/26/2012
You never fall out of character. It's fabulous. They're still so them, even with the talk of children, and the getting lost, and the making out in the street in a battle of wills. It's all picture, tone, character perfect. And so very charming as well.

I absolutely love this story, and where you've chosen to flip POVs, because it always adds, never detracts from the action. I was so excited to see this update, and I loved everything about it. I can't wait to see where they'll stay.

I still love everything about this story. I see the light, the villages, the beauty that is rural France. It's everything I would like for the characters eventually o the show - because there are still conflicts - things to make it interesting, but the way the handle things now is just - better, not that this 'togetherness' of theirs is complete.
Topsy chapter 18 . 1/23/2012
So sweet. And I loved her panic, how Castle doesn't understand that it's not just a ring. It's the same to her as her fathers watch or mothers ring. Loved it! Glad I'm finally caught up! :)
Topsy chapter 17 . 1/23/2012
Oh crap, she lost her ring! Lol, oh no!
Topsy chapter 16 . 1/23/2012
He wants, so badly, to see her face when she gets to hold their child for the first time. - that is so adorable! Loved this chapter!
Topsy chapter 14 . 1/23/2012
Reading in my phone, so no long comments. But I loved the bit about the deer and the lioness. Awesome! And yay, the baby talk! I love babies. :)

I just found your story and read chapters 1-18. I really loved it! You really stayed true to the characters-I could hear them saying the words in my head. I hope you plan to continue the story of their honeymoon. I am following your story, & I'll be waiting for more!
itsourinsidejoke chapter 18 . 1/20/2012
Oh, I loved the deal!

I really loved the way you write this chapter. It was almost... backwards. Starting with the present snd the lost ring and going back to the past when said ring was purchased.

I just loved the structure of this chapter.

And I was sooo happy she found her ring so quickly!

I was freaking out!

Can't wait for more!

with dozens of foreign hands going through her things

-I like the contrast between that time, losing her father's watch, and this time, losing her own ring, especially in light of what a struggle that ring was to get

Who could ask where her father's watch was, without her voice even faltering.

-just that. without even faltering. but here, here she's faltering. and I like that. I like seeing Kate struck by it.

Gathering herself.

-yeah, and then this. how it's a focal point for both the narrative, the story, and also the focal point for Kate. bringing herself in. from a writer's perspective, the technique is excellent.

"Here it is, Rick," she laughs, breathless, and he's at once thrilled and he doesn't want her so upset over a ring. Not even his.

-interesting this, because I sorta want him to be manly prideful that she cares so much about *his* ring, but you're more right because his love trumps his pride, every time, doesn't it? he loves her too much to be *glad* this hurt her; he loves her so much that he wants to do away with anything that might make her upset.

From relieved, breathless Kate back to steely detective, all in one second. It always stuns him. "I want mine."

-I really like this. her possessiveness over it. it's hers, hard-fought, hard-won. she's big on symbols, physical symbols, isn't she? with a watch and a ring around her neck, of COURSE this means more than just a wedding ring, even more than just a symbol of their unity. it's got all kinds of stuff tied to it.

It's not just a ring. Whatever Castle might say.

-YES, I was right. well, I sorta cheated cause I knew that already?

Why does Castle have such good taste, anyway?

-heh.

I do love that she knows she shouldn't look at them, but ends up looking at them anyway, and loving them, and that Castle kinda picked it out. I really love that her first thought is kinda about how it would be great on the job! because they are really a job-couple, in a way, aren't they? their relationship was forged there, and so it makes sense that the ring should fit right in.

Also, I love the reveal here, about their deal. And how excited she gets just thinking about the things she wants to show him, on her own terms, that will also hopefully show him what he means to her. that's what i really like the most - the subtleness of your Kate, how she feels compelled to use a honeymoon trip and all its nuances as a way to open her heart to him, let him read her pages.
Mark C chapter 18 . 1/18/2012
It was nice how you went about having Kate look for her wedding ring and have Rick help. Luckily she found it and reasoned out why the ring was in the place that it was.

I liked how you had Rick willing to replace it and voiced it later to Kate. Kate's statement to that was understandable because of the memories attached to it. I find it interesting that Rick thinks that Kate is not good with finding the ring. Hopefully that gets explained in the future.

I did enjoy the last scene where they are looking for their wedding rings and how that lead to their agreement for the wedding and honeymoon. Loved how they agreed to it.

LOVE this story! Thank you for the backstory!
derkhanblueday chapter 18 . 1/18/2012
I'm terrible for not reviewing more often because everytime I see an update for this story I am so, so happy. The story would be great even without any substantial plot because you write so well, but there is a very intriguing one. I think the premise - them marrying without resolving all their issues - is perfect and a very Castle/Beckett thing to do. Because they love each other so much and denied themselves happiness for so long. It's like showing all the TV people that (committed) relationships are a very gripping and exciting thing and getting into one is only the beginning and not the end.
corlando chapter 18 . 1/17/2012
I was wondering how they agreed upon this arrangement. I"m so glad we got to see how it all came about.

It may have been surprising to see Kate so upset over the ring but her mother's ring obviously means a great deal to her so it makes sense that this one would too.

As usual, I can't wait to read the next chapter.
