Shame that some folks like to take the gloss off the success of authors who have cut their teeth on writing creativity on this site, to the enjoyment of thousands. The writing world is big enough for us all.
I wish you every success with Restoration. Am looking forward to reading the start of it later today.

Considering it is against the TOS of - that you must agree to before posting each and every story - that NO money is ever to be made off fanfiction posted on this site, one really cannot be surprised that advertising the for-profit version of the story would go over well. Also, stating quite publicly on their own site that you'll be reposting any stories they choose to remove (for which they will obviously have a reason) under a new name - and providing that name - might not go over well, either.

I read the pp who cowardly hides behind a sign-in as "Guest" so they can leave hateful remarks. So sad that some people are so vindictive and miserable that they have to reach out through cyber space to spread their venomous dribble! I have been on ff since 2008 and don't have the TOS memorized or legally broken down to specific requirements. It doesn't make it right, making a mistake it worthy of condemnation. I know you have a lot you are dealing with in RL and aren't able to work, so it's totally understandable you need to do something to survive. Although I LOVE your story, I understand what you had to do. There is another brand new site to post fics, started by a fellow fic author wandb and assoc. called FictionPad. You might want to check it out. I hear it's a lot less restrictive!
Hope everything works out and best wishes,

My only issue with pulled to publish stories is when the author holds the last few chapters ransom and says you have to buy the book if you want to know how it ends. A sequel I understand. But to pull it incomplete and then specifically say you have to buy it if you want to know. That just seems wrong. But even that is an authors choice.
I loved the story as an E/B and look forward to reading it as an original. But will wait for the prices to come down. I know you said it was pricey on amazon, but goodness $17 for a paperback was sticker shock. I know there will be an eventual sale and I'll snag it then.
I'm glad you were able to take something that you, and we, loved and turn it into something to help your family. I know you originally planned to not publish it, but time and life circumstances change and you have to put your family first. Completely understand that. I'm just glad you allowed us to finish the story and didn't dangle the last few chapters in front of us. Drives me nuts when people do that.
