Tseli chapter 1 . 9/21/2022 I'm going back through my favorites in light of this website's imminent demise and if you still get notifications about your stories I wanted to leave a message because I don't think I ever have. This is actually one of my favorites pieces of fanfiction I've ever read. It was last updated in 2012 so it's been a whole decade since I found and read it and every few years I will think about it and go back to read it again because it gives me the warm fuzzies. This is a comfort fic for me and I wanted to thank you for writing it :) |
Twashcat360 chapter 21 . 9/20/2022 This was a wonderful story! I loved it so much! And Feli reuniting with Ludwig at the end was a great way to end the story! |
Amyesthetic chapter 21 . 10/12/2021 I absolutely loved this story, thank you so much for writing it :) so well written and really enjoyable to read x loved it |
nopeferatu chapter 21 . 7/23/2020 This is like. My third time reasing through this fic and I still love it just as much as I did the first time I read it. The characterizations are so fantastic, which I'm always conscious about especially in older USUK fics. It can be hard to find a portrayal of them where their bickering and Arthur calling Alfred an idiot doesnt go overboard, but you did a really fantastic job. Instead of them fighting bitterly, their love was so toothachingly sweet it was palpable. I could really feel how much pain they went through with each goodbye that was said between them, how much excitement and joy was coursing through their bodies each time they said hello, and how much love they had for one another in all the big and small moments in between, and THATS the kind of USUK that has kept me a fan of them and their dynamic for as long as it has. While I've thoroughly enioyed reading this fic each and every time I've gone through it, I think maybe this time has hit me the most profoundly. I'm read it through the 2020 extended quarantine and during this time a lot of plans have been postponed into a future thats really uncertain and unclear. One of those plans would have been hopping on an airplane and meeting my online best friend of two years for the first time. While we haven't known eachother for as long as Al and Arthur had in this fic, and we've never once communicated by handwritten letters, I still relate so much to the idea of starting and maintaining a friendship over years and having it be confined to the limits of digital messages and grainy video feeds on a screen. It was really nice to get to read their first meeting, wonder how that is going to look between my friend and I when the spread of the virus finally dies down, and then putting us in their shoes. It also provided a really nice escape; Despite being stuck at home for the past few months, I was able to follow them in their international adventures in navigating long distance friendship and love. Anyways, I apologize for such a long and rambly review, but its really late here, I just finished reading one of my all-time favorite fics again for the third time, and I'm high on the thrill of seeing my boys so fully in love. Thank you for writing such an incredible fic. |

Leo G chapter 1 . 2/20/2019 This is one of the best fics I've ever read. I am not a fan of Hetalia anymore, and I don't even watch anime-but this fic holds a special place in my heart. I ready it first when I was 14 years old-now I'm 20. I keep coming back to read it. Because I deeply connect with Alfred. I am also in a long distance relationship, and I've visited numerous times. Every time I travel back to him, I read this fic when I can. The nostalgia and content feelings it brings is just one in a million. To the author, thank you. This fic is a major comfort. I am so glad I keep coming back to re-read it. I must have read it over 5 times in the past. Better than most books I read. To the author, I hope you are still writing. Your style and story telling is just... Out of this world. Thank you for the absolutely amazing fic. -Leo G. |

LizInACan chapter 21 . 10/9/2017 One of the best fanfictions I've ever read! I feel horrible that I didn't see this earlier! Very well done! |
Thyrra chapter 21 . 5/21/2017 This fanfic is one of the best I've ever read. I can't even call it a fanfic anymore, the story stands solidly on it's own and is just great. I'm going to use everything I know about writing a professional review for this one, without trying to spoil. Each chapter took me between 20-30 minutes to read, and they're rather constant in length. It's definitely worth it and stretching it over a few days/moments makes it so much better than reading it all at once. First off, the realism is real in this story. For real. The characters have proper development, reactions of other people and the progress of the relationship is realistic, making it so that you really do get pulled into the story as reader. It was such a long story (More than 100k words!) that I was convinced the relationship fluff etc would get stale after a while. To my huge surprise, it never did, and instead was sweet every single chapter. Huge props to the author for that. If there's anyone reading this that thinks unproper grammar is an absolute turn-off, rest assured, because I've only found like five errors over the entirety of this story, which are just so easy to look over that reporting on them would have taken time out of my reading of this rollercoaster of emotions. There's even a few morals, if that's what they're called in English! Including the very last sentence and title, there's also "A relationship comes from both sides". The M-rate is there for a reason though, but what's in it that's M-themed is absolutely necessary for the story, and is not as stretched out it would botch the rest of the story. If anything it adds so much to the characters' individual character development and their relationship. All in all, this was one of the best fanfics I've ever read, and if it wasn't Hetalia-themed, it could pass as a proper light novel. Thank you so much for creating this, because it was awesome. |
