Aussies're Aggro chapter 15 . 11/14/2011 I honestly can't understand why there are only twelve reviews on this story; it is fucking AMAZING. I love the characters and their personality, how you've made them interact. God. It's just so brilliant! I'm looking forward to reading more. 3 |
Quills chapter 14 . 10/25/2011 Nooooo it's over! Please update sooon Please! |
Quills chapter 6 . 10/25/2011 You are literally the first writer who has written orc fic that I have read who is not afraid of questioning the so called good in Tolkien's world. Bending what is conventional with another point of view that in my opinion makes a lot of sense. |
Quills chapter 2 . 10/25/2011 Okay some of that was hard to read, even if it was written impecabbly. I love this story so far! I really feel for your characters. Last line was very funny and tied up that chapter nicely considering the subject manner that was in it. |
Quills chapter 1 . 10/25/2011 You are an amazing writer! Finally another inspirational orc fic! |
AlaskaWolf chapter 14 . 10/25/2011 Awesome story! Definatly refeshing to see something new, much better than most typical stories involving both 10th Walkers & Orcs. Lynn is awesome! Looking forward to the next chapter! |
Malady335 chapter 13 . 10/23/2011 Your stories are really good, please continue. |
The Lauderdale chapter 12 . 10/16/2011 Hah. Erna's a fun character. I was expecting her to be quite the Orkophobe when she came in like that, but she surprised me. It is also refreshing to see someone "win" against Lynn. |
The Lauderdale chapter 11 . 10/16/2011 Well, it was a dramatic revelation at the end of chapter 9, and it's just as dramatic at the end of chapter 11. Had to have been a bit of a shock for ol' Eomer as well. [pokes him in amusement] |
The Lauderdale chapter 10 . 10/16/2011 I love the dialog that you've been writing between these two. ...on a side note, I feel I should mention something that's been sitting on my brain. Which is Talon's name. I guess it's because it's a recognizable English word that, interestingly, one often sees given to characters in different books or shows. Anyway, it keeps doing the "not Tolkien" thing in my head. So I finally decided I should just say as much, with the immediate caveat that I am the last person who should be talking about that sort of thing as I have never been reverent in the character naming department. Look at the evil name I gave my Elf character. Anyway, if you did decide to take a second look at Talon, Gondorians tend to play a game of "let's emulate the Elves" by giving their children poncy Sindarin names, unlike the Rohirrim's Anglo-Saxon tradition. |
The Lauderdale chapter 8 . 10/16/2011 Duh-rama... I'm going to be kind of sad to see the back of Marik. It's been fun to have his "cynical physician" perspective during this story. And now they're going to Eomer, which is a terrifying prospect. He is such a hopeless case in so much fic. Can't wait to see how that goes down. |
The Lauderdale chapter 6 . 10/16/2011 ...sorry if I'm not reviewing. It's not because I'm not enjoying it, it's because it's hard to stop long enough to comment. I made myself go to bed last night, figuring I would treat myself with the rest in the morning but also figuring that I'd be more awake to write a proper review. Instead I just jumped into the next chapter. Anyway, Elrohir is here and he is actually listening before smiting. Color me impressed. On a side note, while the snaga Orc's treated Ghru horrifically, I notice that Lynn isn't crossing them off as a uniformly shite race of Orcs. A lot of Uruk fans seem to share the same condescension toward snaga Orcs as the Uruk-hai themselves, which has sometimes made me favor snaga Orcs in response. A bit reactionary, I know. It's the underdog thing. |
The Lauderdale chapter 2 . 10/15/2011 "Must be shit-face." HAH! Great line! And here's another one I'm enjoying. So here's my one point of critique so far, although it comes too late: you uploaded this all at one go, which means that you're probably not going to get many reviews. Which is a shame, because it's a fun story. Ignore me if you already know this argument, but updating a chapter at a time is a better way to reach more people, even/especially if it's a story you've already completed. I'm not talking about my own shameful performance, which is more like every few *years* and is because I am the slowest writer I know. But if you have the whole story ready and waiting, a chapter every few days is a nice pace for uploading - nice for the author because it usually generates more feedback, but if that sounds mercenary, it's nice for the reader as well because it generates a higher level of interest/anticipation/investment in the story. Anyway. Pleasure to find another Orc story from you, sympathy for the nameless Uruk, but even without that I would like this story for the larger premise: "What do you do with a tenth walker after the Ring has been destroyed?" It's kind of fun to just bypass the whole arc of LOTR, running with the premise of, "Yes, this woman was along for the Quest and now the War is over and she's at loose ends." Refreshing. |
