mmmmm thank you for that, this demands a continuation though! To not continue it would be a disservice to all things spirk!
| delia cerrano chapter 1 . 12/5/2012
You are a good writer (watch the grammer mistakes) but I wouldn't have read this if I'd known it ended sadly,..badly. He sees himself as vulcan and so cannot allow deep or uncontrolable feelings. So he's going to make himself & Kirk miserable for life..make their lives less than they could have been in order to prove that he's a good little vulcan. That there is no..inferior.. human part in him that is not in total control. Not bad if you had brought them back together or let Kirk see his "problem" and "fix" it.

Perfect as always!
| WaterBookLover chapter 1 . 3/13/2012
I would love to see a continuation of this-perhaps Jim's reaction to Spock's arrival in TMP?
| Iluvspock chapter 1 . 2/7/2012
Sorry that my first review screwed up half way through and I could not edit it! Anyway, I find the explanation that you give for the time between TOS and TMP is a very possible explanation. You did a very great job with this piece! Thank you for writing!
Live long and prosper!

That was a very interesting take on things. Not only do I think it's a great way of ex
| Cecilia Waters chapter 1 . 1/22/2012
so sad T.T wish we knew more about what Spock was thinking...he was drunk so I think he couldn't take taking the relationship further than he meant to.
| Aku02 chapter 1 . 11/2/2011
he probably thought that he got Jim preggers so he went to find a job to support his new "wife" and child. Its logical. :) awesome writing by the way, very good! b/w/d
| Noremac1 chapter 1 . 10/26/2011
Depressing... will there be more? Also, the ending was a bit weak.
| Doni chapter 1 . 10/18/2011
Oh man, so heartbreaking yet so beautifully done. I think it makes it all the sadder that Jim has no idea why Spock left, that the emotion was too much. This made my heartache...
| MirrorFlower and DarkWind chapter 1 . 10/15/2011
oh gods...just gods i cried during this! as for why Spock left...i think he got scared. he is vulcan he is supposed to control himself completely...i think something maybe the depth of jims feelings or his own scared him...thats the only reason i can think of
| Banbi-V chapter 1 . 10/15/2011
Aw, that was heart wrenching. I always wished they had gone into the time between the last TOS episode and TMP. I figured Spock left because of the ice woman (zarabeth?) and went to purge himself of all humanism, but never returned to Earth or Starfleet because of his shame.
| fantasmaalineal chapter 1 . 10/15/2011
First of all, vaksurik ne kitaun -so beautiful writtenwork.
Apparently, Spock's logic is sound.
He can not love Jim; a Vulcan one can not allow him/her to feel anything, for anyone.
Of course, this is primary logic and is FALSE. Spock is making a serious effort for 'be' a 'complete' Vuhlkantra, disqualifying his human part.
When you don't know which way to take, use the meditation, for clarify the thinking. But Spock is FEELING. To try to think about that, only makes the feel much more clear, and, underneath, appears another illogical emotion; fear.
Of be inferior, human, ilogical. Of be unwanted, non required, rejected.
His actuation/doing/making -to escape- is logical...in vulcan terms and pure cowardice, in human terms.
I'm sorry for my Standard, is no my primary language.

Well done! I think Spock left because he'd always considered Kohlinahr, and when a Vulcan does that, I'd think he or she becomes the equivalent of a monk or nun, celibate. Even though ST:XI had no bearing on the TOS universe(Though the TOS universe DID have an effect on the ST:XI one), I think Spock thought about Kolinahr since he was young(To counteract his "human" emotions), and this may have finally given him the kick, however thoughtless it was to Jim, to finally do so. If not for V'Ger, he probably would have gone through with it, too.
I love this little one-shot, and I hope to see more writing from you. _
