I always found it strange how patriarchal hyrule was. Considering they where made by a goddess not god. Id have thought at least that hylias bloodline went through women (obviously zeldas mother, grandomother) itd make it obvious that the monarchy went through the womens side. I confused myself a bit there, but anyway its a great story and im surprised at how much ive enjoyed it so far :) keep it up

Yes, you updated! As usual, the way you write these characters is just brilliant. I love how Zelda is determined to make a name for herself that isn't based on Hylia's legacy. It says a lot about the princess that never comes through in the games, and I appreciate that, because it gives her individuality.

They're already arguing like an old married couple, which is simultaneously hilarious and unnerving. You've already proven that they make a powerful team, so the thought that they might eventually split up could give way to something terrible.

Lastly, what's this about Holodrum? Hmmmm...

When I first saw Groose in the game, I thought he would be connected Ganondorf in some way. I thought they looked a little similar. I like how you're making that connection here.

I really liked that Ganondorf went to the forest temple to try to speak to Link, even though he wasn't there. I was intrigued by your backstory on the Kokiri as well.

I have very mixed feelings about Groose (not a comment on your work and more just my thoughts on his portrayal in SS). I do think you've made an interesting connection with him here.

All in all, I feel it is a very introspective chapter that adds additional depth to the story. I very much look forward to seeing what happens next!

I am sorry, but I stop reading at this point. Your writing is amazing, and I certainly intend to sample more of your work, but trying to grasp the various intricate interpersonal norms of two completely foreign cultures isn't something I'm able to deal with right now. I very much enjoyed what I've read so far, especially the bits about Demise. I really enjoyed Zelda's interpretation of the legend about Hylia. It makes me look forward to reading about other explanations you may have come up with.

I started reading this chapter, and thought to myself "This is the problem with writing fanfiction. As soon as you make one thing make sense, there's suddenly fifty other nonsensical things you have to make sense too."

Then you said "The seven years he had spent under the Triforce's power had been a blur, a drunken revelry of destruction and chaos."

Ganondorf has an awesome way of getting stuff done.

'Damun' is such a perfect Goron name. I spent forever trying to come up with one once, and I still couldn't get it right. Awesome. I loved how he just smashed the Moblin with a boulder before he finished.

The end seemed kind of odd to me. It seems weird that Ganondorf would "acquire for [her] whatever [she needed] to live comfortably."

This is beautiful. I love the utter hopelessness of both Ganon and Zelda right at the beginning. Awesome job at humanizing him.

Ah, this is quite interesting. I think background like this is very important to story development. I especially like that this gives a sense of deep time in your story, by going into Zelda's past as Hylia. I hope we get to learn more about her past, and see her face her insecurities.

I wonder who the assassin is, and what she was trying to accomplish. Only problem with Ganondorf's approach is they can't question her now. I guess whoever is behind it will probably try again, though. I doubt the assassin was working alone.

I look forward to seeing the next chapter!

I really feel bad for Zelda here too, blaming herself for not being enough of Hylia and for Link's death and everything...and the debt of the goddess concept...goodness. It feels rough as I read it, which means you did a great job with the emotion. Thanks for writing!
