I could care less for Weasley, but Hermione stayed by Harry's side through EVERYTHING- from getting to the Stone, to the Tri-Wizard Tournament, to the Deathly Hallow's search, Hermione stayed by his side being the ever-loyal bestfriend she was.

I am pleased you do not have the Dursley's abusing Harry as you are right, there are too many of those. In the original books they were not nice to him and very unfair but did not bash him senseless.
