I really liked this. I think you probably pegged Kate's inner voice pretty well. Yes, your Kate is a little more emotional, but I think somewhere in our Canon detective lies this girl you've described. I really enjoyed the dynamic, especially the three detectives and Gates. I think you pegged them perfectly, especially Ryan.

I'd love to see more of this, but I totally understand devoting your time to NaNoWriMo.
