Thank you soooo much for this little tidbit. When you started off with how much he hated John, I thought I was going to hate HIM. Loved the word pictures you paint - the rides, the food, the happy crowds, the unfortunate incident with Sammy hating clowns. Then later on, getting ready to settle in with shower/baths (John having the worlds fastest shower!) and still John and Jim talked about the life. Yeah, I can see Jim thinking to try to talk John to let the boys go - really liked how Jim thought it was 2 grown boys, and thinking John was one of the boys when he first arrived - and then, seeing how Dad took care of young baby Sammy. How even John allowed Dean to clamor up and hang on him while he took them all to bed. How they were all in the same bed. Thanks for the community Chest. The three of them definitely needed new clothes, and the kids always could use some more toys. Giving to them definitely warms the heart. You have GREAT word smithing. Gave us ALL the feels, and for once? Very happy ones. *sniff* Thank you!

This was so wonderful. I was smiling the whole time. You basically went through every little scene I've ever wanted with the little Winchester boys and their dad. I loved the characterizations - Dean's protectiveness even though he's still so young while at the same time his child-like enthusiasm, "Dean looked like he was having the time of his life", and Sam's utter trust in his father and brother - the little bit where you described how quietly and patiently he waited for Dean to finish sorting through their "needs" before getting to the fun stuff, and even then only taking what Dean gave permission for, was so well done. The ending scene with all the "men" huddled together reading the book was just so sweet. Loved all of this, definitely a favorite!
