Woohoo, infiltrating the Black Pyramid! I'd say there has to be a clearly defined difference between magic and chakra, though, because even without having read the actual Dresden books, just crossovers here and there, I know that the reason behind the Laws of magic is that if you consider the power of magic to be greater than a person's right to live or have act on free will, and you must believe that to be true for it to work to those ends, then you're also handing over your own right to free will and life to the magic, and very, very few of the ninja actually follow the pattern of people who are dancing to the tune of black magic - heck, Sarutobi got soulgazed and he's fought in two or three of the Great Ninja Wars, together with being famous for knowing every technique in Konoha that doesn't require a special bloodline, so you know damn well he's killed with ninjutsu and warped/broken wills and minds with genjutsu. You've mentioned that Bob's initial impression that they were the same thing wasn't quite right already, though. I do enjoy exploring the hows and whys of magic sytems, so if the inspiration to go into it a little more hits, don't hold back, but in the meantime...
Heh, it would be funny if Naruto's penchant for investigative scrying led him to try constructing a focus item centered on a crystal orb, to help improve his control and ability to maintain concentration - the Hokage already has one, after all, and it's not like Mumm-Ra is the kind of enemy you defeat for good in only one encounter.
"Eye of Thundera, give me sight beyond sight!"

I like your style. I think your tone and attitude are the perfect fit for this story. It fits with the character your trying to mold Naruto into. Especially, those random jokes that you suddenly insert in the middle of the prose...
I am waiting - not so patiently - for the next chapter.

Where have you been all my life? A competently written Dresden Files crossover, I thought that they only existed in the My Little Pony section. Anyway, I really enjoy you combining Naruto's energy with Harry's wit, it makes an incredible combination. Though I expect that Bob is doing that on purpose, despite lacking loyalty, I suspect Bob misses Harry and is trying to create a new wiseass wizard detective to fill the void. Anyway, I like the directin your taking this story, mainly because you're leaving behind a majority of Naruto's hypocrisy by making him follow Harry's path. I also like Naruto's pop culture references because nobody understands what he's saying in the story, it feels like we're all part of an inside joke. I wonder what will happen if Naruto tries to explain Star Trek to someone. I also like Mikoto's personality she has the snark needed to stand with the next coming of Harry Dresden.
Anyway, I really like this story and hope you update it more. I've read your other work and I consider this to be your best production. You've successfully mixed your pop culture humor with the beginnings of a good plot. Please, keep it up.
