| Nova Sinfonia chapter 1 . 2/21/2012
Good story, though I'd like to believe people aren't as bad as all that. I like how the planet's name, Matrem, sounds like "mother", which connects to the idea of "mother Earth". The tone is quite distant, which fits well with the original, but it would be interesting to get a few more details about Aaron. Then again, we're shown that he's shallow when he's thinking of the big-screen TV he'll get on Matrem instead of paying attention to his duties. And the ending is certainly a warning about this kind of selfish thinking. Though here's a quandary: how much of human thought is habit and how much is free will?
...No, I can't answer that one either! But great story,

Interesting story! The reveal is very shocking and the details are great. My only quibble is that just over two-hundred humans seem too few for a serious colonisation attempt, if there is no backup coming later, and the pace of development Majors is predicting seems a little too rapid for me. I really like how the characters are portrayed. They seem very realistic.
