|Reviews for Missing scenes season 2 Star Trek VOY|
| Mally O'Jack chapter 1 . 9/23/2012
Very nice!, and also quite Austen-esque in how B'Elanna and Tom's feelings towards each other change and grow. Made for an enjoyable read. Some good insights into the characters also, especially in the Investigations chapter when Tom says the more he cares the worse he acts (something like that anyway). Would he have spilled his guts so soon though about Caldek Prime?... not so sure on that one. But overall, yeah I can imagine these scenes actually happening! Thanks for writing this.

I don't get my act together to review every chapter, but I am really enjoying all of these missing scenes. I love the way you show what people are thinking or what is happening off camera. Thanks for writing!

I have recently begun to read your stories and enjoy them very much.
It takes a great deal of skill to not only recapture the nuances in earlier stages of relationships, but to infuse these with details and insights that enrich the reader's experience of these past moments.

Oh, very clever, Harry! That was excellent, thank you.

I just want to say thank you to all of you who are reading! It has been fun ride so far, trying to give these characters a life not seen on screen.
I have to admit that I'm entering what I see as difficult territory now. I have always been in favour of when things are only hinted on screen, at least from a writing POV. On forums it's a different story of course. Those who remember the infamous shipper wars on a certain large Star Trek message board probably agree with me that it's nice when things aren't hinted but out in the open. If Trek ever returns as a series, I'll probably not rush off to comment on the development on various message boards to keep my inner peace.
In a way, writing for Tom and B'Elanna has been something of a healing process after the events leading up to 2005 and the end of Enterprise. I still love ENT, but going back to a time when I didn't use internet the way I did later and simply was a casual viewer has been good for me, and I realised just how fun it is to write like I have done the past autumn. It's an excellent way to just concentrate on scenes, although I might be starting to become lazy since I'm not writing anything else right now. It's handy to have an existing world to lean on.
So thank you all. I hope you stay with me during season 3.

Well, congratulations for making it through Season #2! :-) You've given us a great ride, full of wonderful scenes of friendship, learning, and ... boneheadedness. Don't stop now!

That was great! And it kind of foreshadows 'Lineage'.

Beautifully written, thank you.

"Right. Medical situations," she said flatly.
"It could happen," he replied.
Nice foreshadowing. Excellent, thank you!

Ahh, friendship. I just can't get enough, thank you!

Wow. They're coming faster and better than I can review them! Great dialogue between friends, beyond the 'manly', joking exchanges we usually got, showing the depth of the friendship we occasionally got a glimpse of. Well done (again)!

Absolutely lovely, thank you!

"I just can't help it. I don't know what to do or say if I can't joke about it. It's something to hide behind, to avoid having to reveal more about what's going on inside, what I'm thinking... What I'm feeling."
That's Tom in a nutshell! Superb, thank you.

Probably your best chapter yet in this series! You've told me you write better from B'Elanna's POV; with all due respect to your powers of self-assessment, I beg to differ. :-)
Loved the self-exploration on Tom's part, in his own voice - so very ... real, a continuation of his discussions with Neelix and Janeway in earlier episodes, but at a deeper level. What came through is the stirring of the next phase in the relationship between him and B'Elanna. Beautifully and subtly done.

Poor Tom! It's a shame that you weren't writing for the show, since you have such an excellent grasp of the characters.
