Whew that was intense. I wish I could muster the words to aptly describe how I feel about everything, but nothing's coming up except for the fact that I enjoyed this very much. It's not very often that a fic leaves me wide-eyed and nearly speechless. Thank you for writing this!

The torture! The angst! The foolishness! The attraction! Yes, this feels exactly like the sort of thing they would do in this situation, and their respective reactions to it also feel perfectly in-character. Very well told.

Just re-read this in preparation for your planned sequel, and honestly it's one of my favorite stories that you've written! Everything you've written here seems so true to character. The emotions you've depicted are so intense, beautiful, and ultimately heartbreaking! You've written the love scene between them so brilliantly! And I think that at the end of this that they truly believe that "This is the end" for them. However I think that it's extremely fitting that you've decided to write a sequel because I think that given the world and emotions you've created I they were ever thrown together again after having experienced what they have together, how could stay away indefinitely? I'm very much looking forward to the sequel!

That is precisely what would've happened in the show if the CS didn't happen. All in-character and extremely well-written. Great job!

Terribly painful to go through their frustration and pain. Hate Carlisle. Am so glad the show did it the way they did, and Mary never married Carlisle, and Lavinia died. So so glad. In this story, those thoughts, will she get pregnant, or will have have an affair, had crossed my mind too. I'm afraid I'm so attached to these two that I can see them having an affair, and Carlisle dying of a heart attack - please! And please, don't let Matthew marry anybody. He belongs with Mary.

I found this to be a brilliant story. I am actually glad that you left the ending open, so that my imagination can run wild. You are such a talented writer. Keep writing!
