This is really great! What I especially admire is that you tell the truth about how sad the moment is and that there's nothing the poor man can do to change it. All of us have had so much fun inventing happy endings for Anne (I think it's the number one subject for most of the stories here) but a poem as beautiful as this one is meaningful even without a happy ending!
| Lady Eleanor Boleyn chapter 1 . 11/27/2011
I love this! The words are just so simple and yet so thoughtprovoking. We'll never know what the executioner thought of having to kill an anointed Queen, but I think you might well have come pretty close! Great job!

This is the first time I've seen anything from the pov of the headsman who beheaded Anne Boleyn, and as a poem! This is quite good, and makes one of history's forgotten characters more human.
