Reviews for The Pureblood Pretense
Guest chapter 22 . 4/26/2021
This is one of the better Harry Potter fanfiction stories I've read. I love the gender swap.
Gatalicious chapter 1 . 4/19/2021
This is one extremely long read, but it was also very fun. There are some elements of it that I am not a fan of: (1) kid politicians (2) empathising with out and out racists (3) magical cores (4) deus ex machina powers for Harry. But I love how you've made a solid attempt at subverting tropes and you've made potion-making out to be much more complicated and gone deep into magical lore.

This book was a great primer on the revolution to come if the epilogue is anything to go by and I am excited to continue the sequel of this very strange story. I love the fact that a constant tension exists that HP will be found out. Can't wait to see when it all comes crashing down.
Dark Angelx1992 chapter 22 . 4/13/2021
Oh, I really enjoyed this. At first I had my doubts but a Tom Riddle that has gone into politics makes an k interest enemy.
The idea with the mind curse was also quite ingenious and very refreshing to read.
I expected for a moment that Severus would find out Rigel's secret after entering her mind but apparently you didn't wnat him to find out just yet.
I'm really looking forward to the next installment.

I like the line about the phoenix, that's some phenomenal wording. Very tricksy.
Guest chapter 21 . 4/12/2021
Ahh, such a lovely book, with so much promise! First time readers, let me tell you that promise is fulfilled, above and beyond! Y'all are in for a treat, a real treat!
Guest chapter 20 . 4/12/2021
I wonder what my magical core would look like... Maybe a bird's nest or a soiled ball of moss - like a snowball formed formed from a garden - with green sprouts as the "tendrils"... yes... That sounds about right :D Such an interesting phenomenon!
Guest chapter 18 . 4/11/2021
I have such a soft spot for Selwyn's & Rookwood's game, and their relationship in general. It's so wholesome and pure 3
Guest chapter 17 . 4/11/2021
Percy is a very underrated character and I agree with his new-found lawyer approach. I'm sure he'll be much happier this way :]
Guest chapter 16 . 4/11/2021
I wonder if Treeslider would get along with the snakes in Archie's backyard? xD

Severus Snape is written sO so well in this series.
Guest chapter 13 . 4/10/2021
Yes. Pansy is worth it.
Guest chapter 12 . 4/9/2021
The magic and potions theory explained in this series is always fascinating, when I read about it I feel like I'm part of a class and it's quite enlightening. I like to learn, even if this knowledge can't necessarily be applied to real life (though I'm sure much of it can be).
Guest chapter 11 . 4/9/2021
This book. It's so phenomenal. I originally found out about it on a "Best Harry Potter Fanfictions" website. This one came second on that list, but it come's first on my own.
Guest chapter 10 . 4/9/2021
I sigh as much as Rigel does so the sighing doesn't bother me a bit :)
