Well done!
Very moving story.

While Roddenberry's universe has us overcoming our differences, his vision seemed to have all of Earth merging into one culture: that of North America. That may have worked for the mid-1960s — he may even have been needed that to sell the show — and you did see dim flashes other Earth cultures in the later shows.

Your story, on the other hand, has us retaining our ancient cultural identities — and (more important) ACCEPTING each other as we are. I like that idea more than I like Roddenberry's. But as I said, perhaps Roddenberry had to do it that way to sell it to the network.
