Such a lovely one shot - would have loved to see this in canon. So well written- we knew how happy Cora and robert would be from their last scene of the special when Robert said he saw Mary dancing with Matthew and Cora said - let’s not interfere with that. It was wanted by everyone at this point!

Oh, this is just wonderful. I love Robert's excitement and Cora's emotional response. It's so perfect: of course Mary and Matthew were observed. I like how Mary is now wearing Matthew's coat; it's a nice way of showing that some time has passed since the scene we saw.

I loved this! The idea of Robert and Cora watching Mary and Matthew find their happiness through the window is just a lovely idea. I love the relationship you built between Robert and Cora, capturing it so perfectly, and just the little details of the Mary/Matthew moment like him giving her his jacket to keep her warm. :3

This totally should have happened in the Christmas Special.

I love the idea of Robert and Cora catching a glimpse of M and M through the window. I particularly liked how they were so nonvoyeuristic about it (if that makes sense). And I can imagine that the evening subsequently ended on a decidedly amorous note for Robert and Cora (who really need to rekindle their romance after the ups and downs of season 2).

I would love to see more stories from you in this fandom!

Lovely lovely fic. It's always nice to see Matthew and Mary from other people's eyes, and especially Cora's and Robert's in this one - happy as they are that their daughter and Matthew have finally found happiness in one another.

This was SO sweet. I love reaction fics and it was a great twist on the ending to see M/M through Robert and Cora's eyes. Their joy was absolutely palpable and made me smile all through. (Also, I'm so glad Matthew gave her his jacket. Worrying that she's going to catch pneumonia out there dampens the romance slightly!)
