|Reviews for Performance in a Leading Role|
| mionefredalways chapter 21 . 2/4/2012
I have never reviewed a story in the 4 years I've been reading fanfiction but I just couldn't resist praising you! This story is absolutely STUNNING! I don't usually read stories with drastic character changes but I'm soo fucking glad I did this one! Reading it has been an absolute pleasure. It's elegant, smart, emotional, challanging, lovely, intriguing & beautifully written. Thank you so much for writing it, it's only the second Sherlock fic I've read and I couldn't possibly have asked for a stronger one.

This fic is so amazing, I'm so happy you shared it. I am so tired I fell asleep sitting on the couch but still needed to power through and finish this (clearly I needed some rockstar). I love your characters, I love that movie and I'm disappointed I can't go watch it right now, I love your writing, basically you're amazing. Thank you again.

You, are amazing. Seriously. GAH. The amount of your amazing is so amazing that it scares me. Thanks for the great read!

Wow. What a story! I don't think I can even do a review that would do it justice! The amount of thought that must have gone into every aspect of this is phenomenal, just as every other part of it is! The progression of Sherlock and John's relationship was perfect, particularly in accordance with the events and circumstances they were being subjected to! I think it was particularly brilliant the way that you managed to show just how involved a relationship they had without making it all about the sex, and also how each sex scene was different, it's a very rare thing to find in stories sometimes. The sequence and pace of the story and events were yet again perfect. This is a fantastic piece of writing found rarely even in books, if you aren't already I would seriously consider becoming a Novelist if I were you. I was completely enthralled all the way through this, something I consider a particularly impressive feat due to my somewhat lacking attention span, and I'm so tempted to write up 'To a Stranger'. I wouldn't though, it's your invention, even if it wasn't the total focus of this story.
Perhaps you would consider writing a fanfiction of John and Sherlock in the position of the two characters from it? I'm sure it would make for an enthralling read and you would have a chance to bring the story that you created within a story to life!
P.S. If you would like to chat i'd be all too happy to get a PM from such a fabulous writer :)

This was absolutely lovely. :) Extremely well written and engaging... I didn't think I'd like those chapters with just the "audio", but they turned out to be my favourite parts! Well done!
| swiftnick007 chapter 21 . 2/2/2012
Jesus...dude! I never never write reviews but my god! This is the best fan fiction I have ever read. I mean it.
Your use of AU but still within a world where I can imagine Sherlock and John as they are in Sherlock is extraordinary. I truly believed that they were in love and I did shed a tear or two :)
Seriously, well done. This is the epitome of a finely crafted piece of fanfiction and I will be passing it on to many Sherlockians :)
| PerryC chapter 21 . 2/2/2012
I haven't smiled this much in a very long time! Thank you so much for writing and sharing such a brilliant fic. Some of the one-liners are incredible. I'll read half a dozen in each chapter and think 'brilliant! I have to quote that sometime', and then I'll be talking with a friend and they'll say something and I'll know there's a perfect reply somewhere in your fic. I can always remember the meaning of the line and even the scene it was said in, but forget how you worded it. And it's your wording that's perfect.
I think your dialogue writing could rival Steven Moffats. Please consider writing as a professional career, if you're not already!

Brilliant fanfic. A week ago, I felt my years-long love for fanfiction going stale, but you revived it without me noticing till it was done xD
Great story, amazing characterization, so much fun knowledge about 'behind the camera', hot smex and beautiful, but not overly sophisticated style. Entairtaining, but not easy, and so, so unique.
Thank you for it. It was a pleasure of the highest kind *_
| Iceanddiamonds chapter 21 . 2/1/2012
Fantastic from start to finish!
| LonelyTaxicab chapter 21 . 1/31/2012
This story was shockingly beautiful and stunningly written. The amount of effort and research that has gone into this is obvious and has made it a breath-taking read.
Thank you for sharing this with us all :)

This is the second time I've read this and I'm still crying. *tears rool down cheeks*
| TheWalnutQueen chapter 13 . 1/31/2012
I usually wait until I've finished reading a completed story to review it, but this chapter was just so beautiful. It was perfect. I normally make some kind of joke here, but I just can't find the right thing to say. How do you write the emotion 'stunned into silence'?
| Arlissa chapter 1 . 1/31/2012
Just commented on the last chapter but had to add and addendum: you wrote Alone on the Water? I am not lying when I say you need to put pen to paper and craft some original fiction and send it out for the world to see. You are seriously talented.
| Arlissa chapter 21 . 1/31/2012
I can't begin to describe how much I loved this story. I tend to stay away from Johnlock and slash because I simply don't buy it. This was extraordinary. The way that their relationship developed was perfect, and I was thrilled to find myself loving them as a couple in this universe. That and I have a sick fascination with Hollywood behind the scenes so apparently this was right up my alley. You've crafted a brilliant universe, and I hope you try to write up some original fiction - I'm sure it'd be brilliant. (I mean look what happened to Cassie Clare!)
Thanks for this one!

Omg. Hello. Um… Uh… I'm a FAN! A massive fan of your writing prowess and skills and your amazing knowledge that encompasses the this side of the pond and the other. I am genuinely impressed by how motivated you seem throughout this story. And those little mentions of the film plots? They really should make To A Stranger and the one with the violin (do excuse the minuscule size of my brain-the name of it will surely come to me in due course.) into a movie. I love the concept of this and the concept of everything else you've mentioned. The continuity and the dedication you have for this NOVEL just shines through. All those hours? of research you must have been through (makes me think that my idea of joining the army for the sole purpose of writing about it is not so mad after all). I just loved this bloody story so much. The characterisation? Spot on! So so good. The Hollywood gossip? Well, let's just say that before I read this story I was a Hollywood cynic now I want to be a Hollywood actress (female Sherlock-please don't think I'm usually this -gushy- or anything just as… undesirable-but this story has knocked more than just my socks off). I LOVED IT. I ABSO-bloody-LUTELY LOVED IT. It was worth the sleepless night and the bunked lesson. I just had to race-(slowly, savouringly)-to the end of it. Wow. I think I'm on a high. But SERIOUSLY- did I mention the ingeniouty and the brilliance of this story? The characterisation? WOW. WOW. (needless to say, if you ever feel down and need someone to brighten your day with infinite praise and more praise…then you know who to contact). :D xxx
