Lol "possibly a little longer than usual" haha you dont say?!
Lol but seriously, i really really really like this story! A Garrus/Liara romance doesnt really sound right, but the way you do it, it seems perfect! They just have such chemistry, its like they belong with eachother!
Anyway, this is really good so far, and i really hope to see more!

Love this story, a different turn to normal but very well done. When are you doing the next chapter?
| Emmalyn chapter 19 . 9/27/2012
This is such a great fic so far! The story's ups and downs, the emotional highs and lows, are strong and sweeping; it's a testament to your writing that I can hear the characters saying every one of their lines. Just loved it. Can't wait to read more, whenever you get a chance to write it! :D
| Suilven chapter 19 . 8/1/2012
Oh my cow, I completely love this story so far. I'm a total Garrus/Liara convert now. :D
Liara's transformation from naive, flustered scientist to the a colder, harder information broker was done very believably and my heart just ached for her when she left Garrus behind after Shepard's death. I'm secretly glad to have read this with so many chapters already written, so I got to enjoy their reunion without having to wait. ;)
I also really liked the development of the friendship between Liara, Tali, and Ashley (I enjoyed the omnitool prank and I can definitely see Liara holding that grudge) and the way Garrus and Liara's relationship is unfolding is lovely, too. Looking forward to more!

Oh this is too sweet. I'll do in depth reviews of the chapters some time soon, as I think you'll appreciate the input.

This story is really amazing...
I don't normally read m rated stuff but there are so little Garrus/Liara docs that I've had to resort to searching all fic ratings. Keep up the great work :)

I really loved this chapter - I was afraid that things wouldn't go too well, but I'm happy that it was the opposite instead. You've done a great job with the whole interaction between Garrus and Liara in their conversation. It's good to see that despite all the hardships they managed to find common ground like that in their own way - both of them reacted just like I'd imagine them to, very in-character.
Also, excellent work with the love scene between them and the joining of their minds, I really enjoyed reading through your interpretation of it, it was a very good way to explore the long buried feelings between them surface again in this way. You did this scene justice, and it mustn't have been among the easiest things to write.
This has been a long-awaited chapter indeed, and you certainly didn't disappoint - it was a fantastic way to make up for lost time between Garrus and Liara, and I can't wait for seeing more interaction between them now that they have reconciled. Sorry it took me so long to give this chapter a look, but I was away for some time. Now, though, I'm eagerly awaiting the next one and will be all over it as soon as it comes up!

Well, that went a lot better than how I feared it might go. I thought Garrus might be more frustrated and that might cause Liara crawl deeper into her shell, but he was fairly patient and accepting, and that certainly seemed to encourage Liara to open up. Good mushy making-up scene as well, nicely done there!
| Theodur chapter 18 . 7/22/2012
Ah, the famous self-control in action. Almost cracked, but not quite. But seriously, Liara, you have to give them something, or this will turn ugly. And I don't see Garrus as the type to drag the truth out of her, because he seems a little resigned already. Liara will have to play this very carefully, if she makes Garrus feel as if she has betrayed his trust, then it's over, I don't see him trusting her again after that. Ugh.
Great chapter though.

You're really evil ending this chapter like that - now I really can't wait to see what happens when Garrus and Liara finally get the chance to talk for what has been, well I don't know, two years!
This was a really fantastic update and I like how you handled the interaction or lack thereof between Garrus and Liara. I loved the contrast of Garrus basically knowing almost everything about what she's feeling with the help of his visor and analytical skills, while Liara couldn't really tell his thoughts with his stoic expression. I thought it was very in-character for both given the situation, and with the change of point of view you really got the opportunity to explore both of their thoughts and feelings, and I especially enjoyed that.
Another thing I liked was the confrontation between Nyxeris and Liara, we never get to see it play out, but I'd like to believe that this is exactly how it's happened. Really great work exploring the feeling of despair Liara initially had when finally finding out why all of her efforts had been doomed to failure because of the only person on Illium she used to trust.
Excellent work overall. The next part of the story is definitely going to be the most pivotal, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Well done! Good to see your Shepard is such a good friend! And that whole last scene has made me anxious to see how Liara and Garrus talking to each other again goes down. I didn't realize until now I have Liara/Garrus feels, and this is all born from this awesome fic! :)
| Krasnaya Toasta chapter 17 . 7/14/2012
Great chapter! I've really enjoyed how this story has evolved from a simple premise to something truly unique.
I can't wait to see how their reunion goes! One of the major things about Mass Effect 2 was that it was hard to really get a sense that two years passed. Two years of separation might do all sorts of terrible things for their relationship!
Can't wait for the next update!
| Theodur chapter 17 . 7/7/2012
I'm really surprised Liara doesn't have an ulcer or some kind of nervous condition after all that. :P Still, got to admire how her brilliant mind is working even then, spotting the clues and deducing that Garrus might not be dead.
The section from Garrus' pov was excellent too. He might still think of Liara, but somehow considering the way they parted, I am not expecting a sweet and touching reunion. Sigh. :/ Can't wait for Ilium now. :)
| Theodosius chapter 17 . 7/7/2012
Splendid chapter - everything from Liara's thoughts and distress over the possible death of Garrus to a drunk Shepard blabbing about Kaidan on the Normandy. I loved how you explored Liara's feelings when she read the announcement, and while it was sad to see her so much in pain, it showed just how much she really cares about him - I mean, she even called out to the deities of three races! And the bit about her recognizing a suspiciously Shepard-shaped pattern was amusing - all signs *do* point to her, don't they?
And Garrus' talk with Joker was very well-written. I really liked how throughout the chapter Garrus couldn't help but be reminded of Liara in almost every way. Just like her, he cares about her a lot himself even after all those years. His talk with Shepard about Kaidan must have brought her a small degree of comfort - things will get better for her too soon - he will be sending that message of his, I bet.
And Illium - yes! Now *that* is going to be very interesting to see. I can't wait to see what happens when Garrus and Liara meet each other again. This is going to be a whole different take than the vanilla ME2 encounter with Liara! Excellent work once again, and *very* eagerly expecting the next chapter of "One Night on Noveria". It's been a lot more than just one night on Noveria so far, though, hasn't it? :D
| Guest chapter 17 . 7/6/2012
I love this. It was nice to see Liara so upset by Garrus's supposed death. And Shep getting drunk and venting to Garrus about Kaidan was fun too.
