| Quill chapter 1 . 1/29
You're too good at writing angst.
I read this once before, and now I recalled, and it's horribly sad.
Can you write something happy? Please?
| Engxty Piksy chapter 1 . 8/6/2014
OmG.. That totally made me cry!
| xBookEaterx chapter 1 . 7/15/2014
Arthur, you stupid prat!
And what happens next? o.O
This is too good to end here!
| WhatIsThisNormalYouSpeakOf chapter 1 . 6/7/2014
Oh god that was sad. That hurt my soul. I'm so closed to tears right now. Ouch. Beautifully written, by the way.
| She was waiting chapter 1 . 1/15/2013
this is probably the best modern au I've ever read. Bravo, truly. Bravo.
| Corey YoungBlood chapter 1 . 1/6/2013
Bravo! So sad, and I've got mixed feelings about the ending. Yes it was so nice to end it as if we could leave it to our imaginations since it never said merlin dies. On the other hand it wasn't enough, and i just really want to know if he lived or not (hopefully lived :P) Great fic, well witten :)
| Kittylin15 chapter 1 . 1/6/2013
I want to know if Merlin lives or not.
| haezofdaust chapter 1 . 12/24/2012
Oh. This one-shot gave me feelings, it did. As much as I didn't want to let this fic go, that was a brilliant place to end the story. Everyone managed to make a spectacular mess of things trying to fulfil their destinies and it all ended up as a Charlie Foxtrot. You've pretty much gotten the whole essence of the show across!
Maybe it's just me but I'm still a bit confused on what actually went down during the night Arthur got re-admitted into the hospital. Apart from that, this story is gorgeous! There were bits that had me grinning from ear to ear and then there were the excruciating, tragic bits (oh, oh, all the foreshadows). I loved all of them; but the line that really rendered my heart into much ground-upon bits was, "But how does the story end, Arthur? What about the peasant – he got hurt, right?"
The fic would have worked very well in its tragicness without the story (a story within a story, ha!), I would think, but adding the reference to their namesakes in really clinched it. This was a beautiful, poignant, not-so-little piece that was very much steeped in reality. Thank you for sharing!
| Laughy-Taffy the Grape chapter 1 . 12/10/2012
Yeah, yeah, you keep telling yourself that. Good story!
Good thing Arthur's shoulder didn't start acting up while he was holding Merlin.
| blolb555 chapter 1 . 7/27/2012
Oh god. This is brilliant. Seriously though - terribly sad. Especially the ending. Because Merlin DIES and that isn't good, especially after Arthur is his friend and has lost his prattishness. And I seem to be liking Modern AUs more and more now - I love your references to the middle-ages Merlin.
And you write brilliantly.
| Guest chapter 1 . 7/18/2012
(just a warning, this is not a flame but...)
Fuck you! fuckyoufuckyoufuckyou! I HATE YOU! I'm just sitting here, on the lounge and I read this and start bawling like a toddler who stubbed their toe and now my family is staring at me anD IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!
So I think you got the emotion and feelings conveyed brilliantly! seriously, other than a few spelling errors, this is perfect! I'd thank you for a brilliantly written fic if you hadn't ripped out my heart and stAMPED ON IT! (But seriously this is amazing!)
| irezel chapter 1 . 6/9/2012
3 woooooooooow...so good. i thought for a bit magic existed in this universe..guess not. still amazing. :)
| rawr52 chapter 1 . 6/8/2012
How are you so good?
| Forever Day chapter 1 . 5/20/2012
I really enjoyed this, and the doctor/lawyer combination wasn't one I've seen before in an AU which is always an added bonus. It got a bit confusing at one point (where Arthur has to go into hospital and I couldn't work out what Merlin was doing) but it was just the one and it was cleared up later on.
Other than that, a nicely done AU with lots of drama (and, along that line, you couldn't bash out another chapter please, one where Merlin lives and it's all fine?)
| neko no warai chapter 1 . 2/10/2012
That was excellently written. They had beautiful characters and emotion, and I felt so badly for the boys and their conflicting affection for Gwen. But what really struck me was how well you wrote the ending scene. It balanced the raw emotion and the suspense wonderfully, and now I can only hope that Merlin ended up just fine after all!
