Hmm, I'm not sure what I liked best about this chapter. It might have been Gene and his interaction with Mai. I liked how you showed his guilt and pain about Mai's dreams. It might have been the hint about the real reason Gene went to Japan and the mage (I feel like that might be a good segue into a conversation with Lin.) I could have been Lin and Naru's reactions to Mai's abilities at the site. But I think it was when Madoka cloths-lined Mai and Martin acknowledged that his son probably deserves a good beat down. :)

Absolutely amazing chapter! First, her conversation with Gene was informative and amusing, I love how he wants to wait to 'see' things before he moves on (LOL)! Also, the whole Naru getting jealous about Mai propping up Monk was so cute, I love that he gets jealous. I also adore that Lin and Naru were both very impressed by her growing powers and her professionalism. I can't wait to see more of how this case goes so PLEASE update again soon!

This was so good. I liked Gene's warnings to Mai about being patient. I think i know what the transfer is now, and also what it is that Gene wants to happen before he moves on. And I know why he's telling her to be patient! Wow, I love this story so much! It's so fun to see Mai and Naru argue, and I love how we get to see how much Mai's powers have grown now. I am looking forward to the case for sure! AWESOME!

Just as you mentioned at the end of the chapter, it wasn't an action-packed chapter. But there's nothing wrong with that at all; in fact, I have always appreciated the time you dedicate to explore the how the main characters think, which adds more depth to their personalities. I loved how you wrote Naru, how he easily caught on to Mai's lying; it showed how much he understood her, and showed off a bit of his smarts. It was also funny how Mai eventually had the same conclusion as Naru's eventually (regarding contacting Gene; of course, Mai took the winding route).

I also enjoyed how you retell bits and pieces of the time-gap. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it in the previous reviews, but it gives a realistic feel; as though there's a gaping hole slowly being filled up as they catch up and share those memories. It's also a kind of a statement of how Naru (and Lin, collaterally) missed a LOT by not returning or contacting them for that matter during that time.

I'm guessing Gene enters the party in the next chapter. Will Mai and Gene be "caught on the act" (heehee, it's almost like an illicit relationship)? How will Naru react (oh, as jealous and aloof as he can maybe, LOL!)? Will the angelic twin be scolded by the "meaner" twin big-time? Will Martin and Luella find out about it?

Oh, so many trivias! Things are slowly receiving enlightenment, and yet there are still so much! And it simply makes me titter with joy. (sigh) It thrills me.

As of now, I will refrain, and make more comments in the next chapter. :)

Loved the update, as I always do :) This is getting so interesting! Mai has certainly grown both in her powers and her manners (like not reaming Naru a new one every time he insults her). It's so neat to see how you have changed the characters, and yet they have remained the same all at once. You have a real talent for writing and I am looking forward to much more from you! I am dying to know what the heck is going on, what sort of secret Gene and Mai have about Naru and what else is happening...It's killing me not knowing haha!

This chapter may not have been action packed but it was still awesome! I loved Mai's explanation of some of her powers (very interesting) and I loved that you had Naru intrigued and comforted by Mai's story at the same time. I am dying to know more about the scars still as well as everything going on with Gene. Please update again soon!

So after re-reading the last chapter and reading this one, I find myself with more questions. Since Mai has to wear the gloves when Ayako stays with her, I find myself wondering if she, or any of the others know what they look like or what they represent. Perhaps it is just Mai not wanting to upset Ayako, but it did make me wonder.

I also wonder what the conversation with Martin and Luella would be if they found out that Gene was Mai's spirit guide.

As for this chapter, you did an excellent job of explaining Mai's training and her abilities. I really liked how you brought in Bou-san's family of monks as Mai's trainers. I'm also surprised that Yasu is creating so many openings for Naru to figure things out. It seemed like he'd be more on the ball, or else he has a slightly different agenda when it comes to Gene.

And...your group and interpersonal interaction is excellent. It is one of the things that makes your story so good. You are able to make the story about more than just the plot. I am really looking forward to Mai's interaction with Gene.
