You are probably my favourite Castle fanfiction writer. I think you strike the tone of the show very well. When I make up fanfiction in my head it is usually visual and I try to make it look and feel like a real episode, so naturally I am attracted to fanfiction that does similarly. I think you have the balance of humour angst and drama that Castle does so well.

Great stuff. You're a brilliant writer and you've improved over time. I've just read through your collection. I think you rely a bit too much on miscommunications though- like here "It's not what you think, she's - " In my experience it's only in television and cheap movies that people are stupid enough not to let someone finish that sentence. And Kate Beckett is guarded, private and wounded, but not stupid. I think you're absolutely right that the "remembering" secret will be resolved and then the "case" secret will tear them apart. They seem to have dwelt more on the "remembering" secret and I don't know why, except that they're responding to the immaturity of fans. I thought, from the swingset conversation in Rise, that Castle would understand where she was at and if or when he realised the lie he would be hurt but get over it quickly. I actually think his reaction, played out in the last few episodes, is a disservice to his character, inconsistent and inaccurate. However, I liked how they played it in Undead Again, because it allowed the audience to be reminded and in turn forgive Castle, that a lot of what Beckett has gone through and worked through this season has never been seen by him. Still, it is the "case" that interests me most. And you are right that it is more a betrayal than I lie - because it's not just hiding something (that he's working on it without her) it's also a manipulation and deception (keep her away from leads, focused on day by day cases only, stop her from pursuing) - and I liked that you drew that back to Royce and Montgomery. I think the parallels are unmistakable. Betrayal is a major theme in the show and I don't know how they'll come back from this but I look forward to watching it. Please keep writing. Especially The Lost Ones. I'm Irish, so Beckett and Beckett are always appreciated. And I'll need you over the summer hiatus!
