|Reviews for elia martell: they kill us for their sport|
| gwenfell chapter 1 . 10/29/2013
I love fan fics on the histories before A Game of Thrones, and I especially love how you depicted brilliantly the complicated relationship between Rhaegar and Elia. Elia and Lyanna are personally my favorites. ;)
| Nemrut chapter 1 . 10/9/2013
Magnificent story, really loved the introspective on Elia and how you portrayed her. She really is one of my favourite characters of this series, even though we never really see her. So much potential.
Thank you for sharing this.
| Bubbles of Colours chapter 1 . 10/5/2013
Elia is such an interesting character and I loved how you portrayed her!

Beautiful. Bittersweet. Excuse me, I must wipe my tears now.
| Reyra chapter 1 . 7/27/2013
Wow. Beautifully written. I'm crying. Elia tends to be underrated.
| SuperNatasha chapter 1 . 7/22/2013
Ohmygod, I am crying. This is beautiful. I love the Martells and you've done them justice with this fic wow.

*fistpump* Go Elia! I tend to roll my eyes when fans claim Elia was a complete weakling. If she's Oberyn's sister, she isn't a trampled flower. I especially like how you handled Rhaegar. The lad tries, but he's a kiddo with a lot of delusions. Oberyn! I love him and I love how you wrote him. He and Elia remind me a bit of Cesare and Lucrezia from Showtime's The Borgias, just without the incest.
I noticed a couple of typos (courtesies instead of curtsies, etc.) but nothing that took me out of the story's flow. I really liked how you played with the structure.

A beautifully written story. Thank you for that.

That right there sir was a work of pure win. In all fairness, even though Elia was an important character in the books (dead but still), I never had put too much thought about her. I just went with whatever information we had in books, she being a weak girl who couldn't hold Rhaegar to herself, but you added something that has possibly changed my whole perspective about it. Now, I don't think I would ever be able to think about Elia as a mere pushover or filler character. You painted her in a way that seems so much of a proud Matell, just like a mix of her two brothers, Oberyn and Doran. And the last few lines were simply so effective. Characterization, I don't need to say, was perfectly spot on. The writing itself had no problem with the flow being very good. Just enough pauses at places to give proper impact on readers. Perhaps a couple of sentence could have been structured in a better way. But cheers for such a nice work.

This is the most amazing tale. You write Elia very well.
| Guest chapter 1 . 3/6/2013
That was amazing.
| Aista chapter 1 . 2/16/2013
Bittersweet but lovely all the same.
| Bess Woodville chapter 1 . 2/1/2013
This was extremely chilling, the emphasis and selection of words was impeccable! I am happy to come across a somewhat not so heroic characterization of Lyanna!
I've always loved Elia.
| Girl-Uninspired chapter 1 . 1/9/2013
this is definitely my favourite asoiaf fic, I'm adding this version of events to my mental picture of the whole books. I never really liked how rhaegar abandoned his wife for lyanna but this really explains the whole section, you've made Elia one of my favourite characters: it's beautifully written, thanks :)
| subtle candor chapter 1 . 1/6/2013
...So f**king bleak and candid, really awesome job on your portrayals of Rhaegar, Lyanna, and Elia. Elia is never given cojones, weak of body, but certainly not weak of mind, really, really good. Gah I'm out of words, excuse my use of profanity-carry on.
