Quis Custodiet chapter 1 . 9/12/2015
This is a well written piece, but the final resolution is poorly thought out. If Kyon's "solution" is taken at face value as honest, then it really is something that ought to make him bitter at Haruhi and this doesn't really come across. He's far too magnanimous for someone who's basically sacrificed a great portion of his life or potential happiness, even for a pre-set period of time.

I've actually read this one before.. Now I realize why I didn't remember it as a favorite. While the writing level is of course superb, it just leaves me feeling sort of depressed and uneasy and perhaps more than slightly disappointed. That the self-declared anti-relationship Haruhi demands a relationship with Kyon? That Kyon shoots down Haruhi and that she accepts that? It's.. kind of inconceivable. Kyon in particular seemed fairly out of character. In the novels, at least, Haruhi and Kyon seem to have some sort of understanding. They may not be romantically together... But when Haruhi and Kyon were searching that mansion and Haruhi is pulling Kyon around by the wrist.. and she says she doesn't like to do things conventionally, obviously referring to relationships... It's pretty much a given that they have these particular feelings for each other. And with book 10, The Surprise out now, it's undeniable. I apologize for all of these spoilers, if anyone else is actually reading this.

Brilliant. I enjoy how you shifted things, how you made Kyon a great deal more cunning and a great deal more capable. Things are more balanced now. No small feat considering Kyon is at the mercy of a notoriously capricious god. Hopefully his destiny is now a little less predetermined.
Thyrokio chapter 1 . 2/26/2012
Poor Koizumi suffered a lot in this one. Planner-Kyon managing to achieve his objective without destroying or changing the world was pretty impressive.

Nicely done, I thought that Kyon was oblivious when she asked him to confess, but then we get hints that maybe he wasn't so clueless after all and then he admits it.

Good work.
Ayayacchi chapter 1 . 1/23/2012
I really like the ending, and the entire story in general. And your style of writing. It gives a lot of credit to the author, and ties in many things that work well together.

I don't get what the element is (I'm really dense, I just read fanfics and enjoy them without thinking too hard about them), but this fanfic left a content vibe in me. I usually read fanfics under the romance genre, but I really loved this one for some reason.
