Reviews for Consequences of the Castle
Mareecee chapter 12 . 6/7/2012
And so part 2 begins! The awkwardness! I can feel them squirming every time they are in a room together with others and now with the Edith factor... Mary is right. Edith wouldn't tell their father but I am just waiting for her to do something with her knowledge. It would be so un-S1-Edith like not too!

And I do think that Mary and Matthew are getting stupider and stupider (or more and more helpless). They were that close to getting caught by Isobel... So close that I am actually wondering if she did in fact get a whiff of something going on but has yet to let on.

Anyway, we shall see what you have in store for us next at dinner!
Ju-dou chapter 12 . 6/7/2012
GAAAAAAAAH! efnkshfeskhfkahf!

And to be more coherent... GUH. So, they are so silly, I mean really, and EDITH KNOWS. Edith was awfully harsh, I thought, but then I remembered the Edith of series one and it seemed right. I have a feeling she would be more interested in telling Matthew about Pamuk than telling her father about Matthew, I reckon Mary's right on that score. As always M/M are perfectly realised, in their dialogue, interactions and internal monologue. I love their differing fears, and how clueless poor old Matthew is, he is a precious poppet. I really don't want to think about how he'd react to finding out about Pamuk in this verse, ugh, I feel that will be extremely painful all round. That last bit, UNF, when they were getting carried away, and Isobel was about to walk in on them... eeeeeeeek, I was on terrible tenterhooks, and I could just picture Matthew all flustered and Mary doing her tense smile, bwhahahahaa. PERFECT. I am, of course, now totally desperate for more. Thank you, you lovely ladies, you!

cuddybristow chapter 11 . 5/3/2012
I just flew home from a trip that took 16 hours and 4 flights: I could never have down it without this story! So good, it helped the time fly by, though I was admittedly getting pretty worked up on the plane ;). The tension is so exquisite. Can't wait for the next chapter(s).
Liz chapter 11 . 5/3/2012
Y u no update?
darkblueyank chapter 11 . 4/14/2012
Wonderful fun, guys. Now part of the fun of reading good fanfic is the great reviewers, so picture me pointing to Serena89's reviews and going "What s/he said". Because I get inarticulate when faced with your hot, funny story. Serena89 summed up the hotness of your scenes with her comment "I could get pregnant reading this". LOL

This latest chapter: thank you for Isobel "as gloriously inappropriate as it was possible for her to be". I had to stop and read that phrase over and over for the pure joy of hearing it coming out of Matthew's head.

I like Edith, I can't help myself. Your Edith is so completely JF's Edith.

The cufflinks - I'm dying here. Are Molesley and Anna going to compare cufflinks? Are Matthew and Mary busted?
Patricia chapter 11 . 4/10/2012
Absolutely love this story. You kept Mary and Matthew true to how they both were in series one. The Matthew you describe here is somehow the sunny, stubborn, slightly geeky, naive Matthew we have met in series one. It is true that in series two he had become more of man (unfortunatly due to the horrors of the war)and also who could resist him in his soldier's uniform. No wonder we all cheered for Mary to get him, who could blame the girl:-) going back to your fanfic - well done, keep up the good work, your writing is wonderful and thank you for giving us so much more of Mary and Matthew moments, series one was too short!
grapeseedy chapter 11 . 4/10/2012
You guys! I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next installment! Not to put any pressure on you or anything ;) But seriously, I know you have lives, so don't mind me, but it suddenly occurred to me that I had not left a review for this story yet (the horror! Because I love it so so much)

This chapter killed me (in a different way than the last few...), I wanted to die along with Mary and Matthew when they realized that Edith knew! Seriously, I am grinning like a crazy idiot when I read this fic and you should take that as the greatest praise! Keep on being amazing writers, both of you! :)
eridani chapter 11 . 4/8/2012
That was so awkward I wanted to squirm! The poor dears, they are utterly rubbish at keeping this whole business under wraps. Meanwhile I'm very eager to know just how much Edith knows about our protagonists' rendez-vous. Presumably she only knows for sure that Mary was with someone, not necessarily Matthew- though M&M's stilted reactions in the train might have given that way sufficiently.
crankygrrl 2.0 chapter 11 . 4/8/2012
I have to admit, when I considered all the potential consequences of Matthew and Mary's trip to the castle, a deadly train trip with Edith and Isobel in tow had not made the shortlist.

Bravo for a finely wrought episode (naturally Edith overheard because fate can be cruel that way) and for giving Matthew a clue - and his mother a nurse, too! LOL

Looking forward to the next update.
GhostIsland chapter 11 . 4/8/2012
You guys! :D This story! :D I loved the alternating parts at the beginning...the way you played with memory here was amazing - how the smallest triggers for M/M could invoke such...vivid imagery...whew! :) But I ADORED the train. OMG. :D The heat was *palpable* in MANY ways, and your seating grouping was brilliant. :) A wonderful constant of this "castle" universe is M/M's utter inability to be civil to each other with any third party present and this was another fine example. :D Oh, the window opening was incredible, the whole conversation about cats ("cats don't bite" - indeed!), Edith's goading, Isobel's happy cluelessness, Matthew having to leave for tea (aww!). And OMG, and Matthew going to Manchester! For a wedding! The plot thickens. :D SO excited to see where you guys take this - PLEASE update soon! :D
