Oh. My. Lord.

Brilliant. Amazing. Exquisite. There aren't enough words for how utterly phenomenal this story is. There are so many Katniss pregnancy fics, but you just hurdled the bar and set it so incredibly high I'm not sure anyone else should try. Wow.

You have blown me away yet again. Here I was, sitting around minding my own business, when I get an email from saying that you had a new fic up, and that too Hunger Games, then I see the summary and I nearly screamed. I mean you actually tried it! Eek, I am still excited.

Alright let's get down to the details. I really loved this fic. It's different, I thought, and it's probably cause I just started reading Camus' The Plague, but I felt like the way you told the story was slightly different from your last HG fic. It's probably because this time you were writing in Katniss' point of view. But everything was more concise and matter of fact. I thought it was great.

What I really love is though I would be tempted to make Katniss love the child earlier on, you stuck to my headcanon which would be that Katniss wouldn't realize her love for the child until she actually looked at it. I love how she was like this is for Peeta the entire time. I've read fanfictions about how Katniss comes to terms with having a kid, but usually it's all about her, which frustrates me because it makes her a very selfish character, but in your fic she makes it about Peeta.

I like how she slowly comes to terms with it, it's not that she's really afraid of children (I always believed she wasn't because how else would she have raised Prim) but because she was afraid that she couldn't keep her child safe. That scene where she didn't want to let the baby out of her stomach because she could protect it in her stomach was so powerful. I was practically breathless. I mostly enjoyed that Haymitch was able to calm her, just like he always did during the books.

The last scene was the best in my opinion. I love how she was named after a flower (weed, actually). It kinda let the story come into a full circle. Especially when she picked the primroses to make into a flower chain, I was kinda surprised that Haymitch didn't say anything about her picking them, but then again he's Haymitch.

Above all, you've created the ideal Peeta/Katniss relationship in my mind. In your fics, they are complete equals who really love each other. That's what I love about them. She loves him just as much as he loves her. Which I think was my biggest problems in the books, it always felt like he loved her more, and I hated the idea that she would just settle for him. Like you mentioned in your reply, they end up together, but I didn't like how they ended up together. I feel more happy with your fics in mind.

This review took me longer than it should have, but to sum up, I absolutely loved your fic. It was amazing. And if you decide to write anymore fics about Peeta and his daughter (nudge, wink) I would be the last to complain.

but then there was "fat, spoiled baby," and haymitch training his geese to attack, and katniss knitting a hat for him, and waddling, and pregnant!katniss and peeta both hiding in the closet, and katniss refusing to let the baby out, and haymitch wearing a dandelion necklace, and my head is now so full of adorable i think i'll have this smile plastered on my face until AT LEAST february. 3

but more than just the adorableness, i like that you didn't shy away from the dark parts, like katniss' fear of reporters and peeta's episodes, because those are key to the two of them and shouldn't be sugarcoated. and you handled it so well, it really made me feel their fears like they were my own. oh, i feel for those two so much.

all in all, a FANTASTIC take on katniss's pregnancy. great job!

God, this fic was perpfect, you almost made me cry. You captured perfectly Katniss' fear of having a baby in such a wonderful piece, I loved her interactions with Johanna, Annie and Haymitch (I actually laughed out loud at his dandelion necklace). Great story, I loved every single word.

This is such a beautiful story. It made me tear up at some parts, like when Johanna is talking to Katniss about how many people would protect her baby, and when Haymitch is talking to her when she's giving birth.

I love Katniss' progression throughout the story, it was very in-character.

Favorite part: "Actually," Haymitch says, "that's a weed."

I have no idea why that part made me grin as wide as it did. It is just so...classic Haymitch.
