Very well done.

Dear Itarille1: This is an excellent story. Your descriptive style is well done, and your portrayal of Faramir from your OCs POV is very well written indeed. That probably is how most other men perceived the younger son of the Steward, as he was quieter, less martial than Boromir, more of a bookworm, and therefore supposedly soft. Didn't Tolkien mention something in the appendices to his LotR trilogy that Boromir was thought to be the stronger of the two brothers, yet it proved otherwise when it came to the test? Anyway, IMHO you have done a brilliant job of portraying Faramir as he was meant to be portrayed. Nice bit of subtlety at the end, too-Haldan picking up on Faramir's private "hurt and anger," not realizing that it was Denethor who was responsible for it. Well done. I enjoyed this story. Thanks for writing and posting this. Sincerely, Darkover

well done! A very good description of battle and lordship, and a good viewpoint of Faramir. I greatly enjoyed Haldan, though I suppose it is too much to hope that he survived the battle?
