Going through a laundry list of old unfinished fics I put on alert a long time ago.

This is still a gem, however unexplored it is. Shinji's a good mix of "all part of the plan" and "coping with untold years of trauma" not too angsty, not too smirky/comedic. And of course there's that cliffhanger right at the end of ch4, showing that Gendo (presumably), wouldnt take even minor deviations from his scenario as something to be shrugged at and ignored.

Rei, Misato, Fuyutski, Hikari. They all seemed like themselves. It would have been been a fun ride to see the known plot of the anime slowly go off the rails. But alas.

Shame that you refused to finish this or at least put a Discontoinued on the story summary. You have after all updated once this year which means you are alive.

Yes this story has issues, the main one being why the hell Shinji cares at all. You do not go through his life even once without serious mental issues and PTSD. He has done it how many times? Then just shrugs and decides he is going to do everything 'correct' why?

Why doesn't he just say fuck it and get his very well earned rest? Why does he care about people that for who knows how many years, decades or even centuries by now manipulated and abused him constantly in the worst ways?

That is the heart of the problem, and why while interesting premises leaves this story in a bad light.

Nice work. A bit disheartening to see that it hasn't been updated in some time, but I imagine you have your reasons.
My personal favorites are the "mornings", when we get to see tidbits of earlier loops. I'd keep reading this if only for them. Which is not to say that the rest is boring - the characterization on the other characters is very interestingly written (an example being Ritsuko in this last chapter. Very perceptive, as expected by someone of her intelligence.).

This story might just be the best Peggy Sue fic in this site. I love your writing style as well as Shinji's characterization. It's a pity this seems to be dead. Either way, I will eagerly await the next chapter should you decide to update this.

Wow, you really made me want Shinji to succeed. It honestly made me happy that he was honestly going to try for everybody's sake and everything else. I can't wait to read the rest.

Later, when its not 2 am on my side of things, I'll give a more detailed review. Short version, stumbled upon this and was extremely pleasantly surprised. Time travel fics are a dime a dozen especially for Eva, but you seem to have put a much welcome spin onthe idea. Here's hoping you post ch5 before the year is out.

Yep, that pretty much addressed everything. Must be nice to be able to write Shinji with such an insightful voice!

This is far more descriptive than other Repeating-Shinji stories, it makes reading it seem more interesting than the others. It would be entertaing to read about Shinji seducing the women of eva in your style of writing.

Always a joy to read a chapter of this fic.

Whoha, so they had him kidnapped for intergation. Looks like stuff could go really off the rails there.

Once again, I must commend your writing style/language use. I liked these steady scenes with Shinji in his bed, they gave him a bit more of...tangibility/substance as a character and shows the... damage he took, I guess. Keeps him from turning into a snarky author avatar thingy, a trap many other timeloop fics fall victim to. (Also, these alternate loops are certainlyy not uninteresting)

The scene where he mentally scolds himself for internally going all snarky about Touji& co was my personal favorite, it had a lot of nuance and realism to it - He still feels grateful towards them but they're still basically not-fully-mature kids while he is not, and it's only realistic for him to not be all emotionally invested/connected when he saw them as reset-able until a while ago and knows way more than they do.
