James's correspondence is funny as expected. I really laughed at the idea of him seriously considering that his son could be in danger of being seduced by Zabini.

Pretty refreshing to see a completely different "Siblings who lived (and their parents lived too, of course)" scenario. I wonder what Harry's ambition is exactly?

But for the love of anything that you hold holy try to stear away from cannon. It's already making the story slightly difficult to read and if you continue this way it will become unreadable. For example why is Snape teaching if Lily is alive? Why didn't Lily and James react in any way to there being a fucking Hellhound in the school? Will they do anything now that their daughter was attacked by a troll?

These problems will continue to compound if you don't try to think how the things you have changed impact the storyline.

I hope that Harry steals the basilisk by tracking it down and smuggling it back home in a secure area, leaving young Riddle gaping and wondering what happened to it. That and Harry retrieving the shed skins to give to his mother for potion processing and maybe seeing if it can be made into armor for James and his friends, maybe even some concealed vests for Harry, Camellia, and close friends (like Hermione). Maybe Liliy can also produce potions based on basilisk venom (Maybe potions that can selectively dissolve or purify other substances. Maybe a potion that can remove impurities in a person, perhaps some can remove cancer cells or hostile magics. For such potions, it might include some silver for purity.) and maybe tears of the basilisk (if possible) (Perhaps potions dealing with some transfiguration like effects, maybe even being like the some effects like the philosopher stone) with some talk from Harry to get it to cooperate. Another consideration is that mythically some alchemical processes are connected with basilisks. If it does happen then there is the question of names for the basilisk. While cutesy names like Blinky have appeared in fanfics, given that Harry named his owl Hedwig, the name should probably be similar in nature.

I know this has the tag of a parody on it, but it's seriously so good. I love that you've made Lily somewhat dark. I love that Harry isn't your typical Slytherin. I love the hints of relationship you put regarding Sirius and Remus. But mostly I love your writing style. You've got a great, engaging tone and I found each chapter more interesting than the last, which is surprising to me, because I'm usually not taken by first year fics. Camellia is interesting as an OC, especially given the amount of OCs we see in the Harry Potter world who are undeveloped and cliche. She's neither of those things and I can't wait to see where this goes.

Freshest new Harry Potter story in ages. I hope you keep writing - this is great. :)

As for what to do with the basilisk.. well, Harry wanted a Cerubus and the 'rents were going to let him.. it couldn't be more natural for him to want his very own pet basilisk too wouldn't it? Bonus that he can chat with it too. Harry could hear it through the walls like he did in the book and instead of just following it, he could instead talk to it (mom like Lily as you have painted her would have course taught her kids all about how to break any and all control spells as well as privacy wards) and ask it if it would like to get out of the dank and chilly basement and go to a nice forest right?

I took the liberty of recommending your story on a fairly populous HP yahoo group, which might account for some of these reviews. I'm glad, since this story deserved many more than the 14 it had when I first checked it out.

This update was excellent as well. I'm afraid I can't suggest anything for you on the basilisk front without first knowing more of what you have planned, and I really prefer to be surprised.

Hmm, not your "normal" eleven-year-olds at all. Methinks there's been some very interesting education and training going on; this is probably why Albus is so wary when he clearly wants more control of things. If Quirrelmort is giving Harry headaches, I have to start wondering who really defeated Tom that Halloween night and what peculiar decisions have been made to wield that influence, only to be frustrated by the Potters more or less "turning turtle".
