| Kal-El Fornia chapter 1 . 5/8/2014
This is a really good look into the past of Ser Thrask, and I can easily see it being something that is Canon. It's true that it's a little heartbreaking but at the same time that's what makes it a really fascinating tale to read .
| Knight commander chapter 1 . 2/7/2013
Geez, you make it sound as if Meredith already got the idol.
| naomis8329 chapter 1 . 2/11/2012
Ah bless him, he lost so much and then when he thought he could trust and believe in mages Grace turned out to be the rotten apple in the barrel.
I always felt for him, as he was so right in so many ways, but trusted the one person for whom (besides Anders) there could be no peace.
A very sad situation and one that should have been expanded on to be honest.
Thank you for sharing
| Kilyra chapter 1 . 2/4/2012
Such a great glimpse into Thrask's past. I always thought it was something that deserved to be expanded and it makes me happy that you did :) And I love how you tied it into everything else so well!
| Zute chapter 1 . 2/3/2012
Congrats on placing in the top 20. You deserve it! I enjoyed the story.
| Cybrind chapter 1 . 2/3/2012
I always felt bad for Thrask. Seeing your story just reminds me of all he lost.
| Ventisquear chapter 1 . 2/2/2012
A perfect portrayal of father's love. I liked how Thrask tried to reassure his daughter that the Circle is in fact nice place. Anything to protect his child from harm - even joining Templars.
It was also great idea to show how Meredith is different from the previous Knight-Commander through her behaviour towards Templars, and not just mages, for a change.
And the irony of the end, where he thinks of Grace and Alain as of friends and good people - perfect.
| Taffia chapter 1 . 2/2/2012
Uuuuuhgguuuu...*all the creys*
This is so beautiful. We get to delve into a character we only had the briefest glimpse of (Olivia) and see even further into one of the most admirable Templars ever shown us (Thrask). I really like how you incorporated some of the other NPCs, like Samson and Emeric, as they were before DA2 even happened. And the heartstrings tugged between father and daughter? It really makes me wish there was always a way for Hawke to get there in time, before she was cornered, before she was turned.
Well done as always, Saga! :)
| wangxiuming chapter 1 . 2/2/2012
An awesome look into Thrask and Olivia's history, with seamlessly integrated cameos from in-game characters. The dialogue was natural, the writing superb, and the story poignant. Olivia's reaction to Thrask when she is a child, compared to after she has grown up in the Circle was masterfully crafted.
It's easy to see why this made it to the top 20! Awesome and congratulations!
